Location

There's an unpleasant smell that's in that apartment and it doesn't seem to leave. It smelled like the toilet when we got in. It was also very dusty cause my sinus activated.

Toilet is 1m from the bad and no door, space can't accommodate 3 to 4 adults

The set up is bad. THey is no door to the toilet every sound and smell from the toilet can feel the room. We booked for 3 adults but one person had to sleep in the kitchen

Decent place, I liked it and would probably visit again but the hospitality upon my arrival was bad.

Nice convenient place – situated in a convenient location, close to all local amenities. The place was clean and very peaceful.

My welcoming was beyond deplorable. I called the host, texted, and waited for 40 minutes before I was let in, as she wasn't picking up her phone. The reason was that "calls and messages were not coming through" despite my messages having 2 ticks on WhatsApp, and the phone was ringing. A gentleman later called me (from the same number) to apologise, saying he couldn't hear the phone because it was on silent and he was in church, which made the story even more confusing, as I had been talking to a lady the whole time before my arrival. I was using Uber and felt stranded outside all by myself at night. Imagine! The host did try to apologise, and I reluctantly forgave them, but this was a horrible impression and experience.

EVERYTHING WAS IN 1 ROOM.FOR THE 8 DAYS I STAYED THE ROOMS WAS CLEANED TWICE ONLY.YOU COULD FEEL THE SPRINGS ON THE BED.NO ACCESS TO POOL AREA.BED WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR SO WE WOKE UP ALL CONGESTED EVERY DAY.

The shower heads a half broken half working. I also didn't like the way you had to reverse off the property. If you're a new driver, you can't go there. Also no dstv cable? We're in 2025 nobody still watches those channels.

Parking inside was cramped and a struggle to get out of. The traffic was also constant. I struggled to get a good night's sleep. No dishwashing liquid to wash up dishes. I had to use my own shampoo. The unit is also too small for 4 people if you want to use the indoor braai. The 2 extra beds block the braai completely and pose a danger if you do decide to braai.

Very, very poor parking. Just not enough parking space. Never saw owner/manager until handed back keys. No basin plug on arrival. Downlight hanging from ceiling. Very old dish drip tray, just standing on kitchen top, with nothing to catch drips. Poor entrance door blind. One bedside ‘floating’ shelf was loose, and at an angle.

Well positioned with easy access to highways. Rooms are big and comfortable

No outside seating. Some of the advertised equipment didnt work as expected. Staff was quick to resolve. The hot water system was also different and went cold a few times. Might be a good practice to inform guests of how the hot water system works and what can be expected.

Cosy, 1 bedroom, Self catering apartment in Tyger Valley

Staff we very responsive. Had issue with electricity but sorted promptly. Was upgraded from studio to one bedroom apartment at no additional cost.

Improvements proposed - clean room after 2-3 days - install TV channels DStv/Netflix - invest in inverter as there’s load shedding in South Africa - kitchen. Include frying pan, smaller cooking pot and dish cleaning materials

Very comfortable bed and lekker shower!

The electricity ran low twice and started beeping - was a little annoying. And not having a dustbin in the kitchen area was tricky as it was raining and the bin was outside. Should also be a mat inside the door to wipe our feet. The TV was inadequate - had to watch a movie on our phone.
