Warm and cozy cottage in a peaceful location

I firstly loved the look of the cottage on the website, and the star rating and reviews which were exceptional. All added up to me booking this beautiful cottage as a surprise for my husbands 60th Birthday. We only live an hour away so an ideal location, the photos of the cottage looked amazing but the views just looked stunning and so peaceful. Jane the owner was really quick at replying to any questions i had, and indeed met us on arrival. She had even gone out of her way and got him a lovely bottle of wine to celebrate with! My husband was absolutely blown away by the cottage. It was warm, inviting, cozy and just exactly what we needed after a busy week. The kitchen is first rate with everything you coukd need, the bed was huge (and my husband is 6"5'!) And so very comfortable. The bathroom is immaculate just like the rest of the cottage. It truly is a beautiful location and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Jane and Huw weve had the BEST time! We"ve recommended to all our friends and family

Lovely rural cottage

It was in a lovely rural location. The cottage was clean and cosy with a modern kitchen and bathroom.The bed was comfortable and the welcome treats were a lovely touch. Plenty of space to park and very safe area.

It is an old property with beams and sloping ceilings upstairs which added to its charm but worth being aware of it you are very tall.

We had a lovely short stay at Maes Madog farm cottages and can't recommend it enough.

A beautiful, warm and historic stone cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage inside was very well decorated, clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we could have needed. We were delighted for find that in addition to the bathroom we also had an en suite off the main bedroom. There was plenty of information in the cottage from the host about the location, wi fi code, local facilities and things to do as well as some good descriptions of local beauty spots and places to eat. There is plenty of parking at the location as it is at the end of a private road in a large clear area.

Can't think of anything to be honest, we were really happy with everything.

A beautiful place to stay great location!

The location was picturesque, remote but ideal for walks. It was lovely and quiet and not far from the nearest town which you can walk to. The cottage had all the amenities you need! It was clean, tidy and the little welcome package was a lovely touch!

Charming and with a nice kitchen, but very small and remote and the bed could be better

The cottage is very charming albeit very small. We were on a month long roadtrip through Wales and had quite some luggage with us and we were unable to leave our suitcases open, because there was simply not enough space. It's really nice to have both a stove top and an oven, because it gives you options for cooking. However, kitchen utensils are limited and there aren't any decent supermarkets around, so you'll have to eat whatever (few) vegetables and meat (sausages, always sausages) they have stocked.

The mattress is so soft that you roll towards the middle and are lying in a soft pit. We had trouble sleeping properly because of it. The location of the cottage is a 10 minute drive from Betws-y-Coed, so there is nothing (shops or pubs or restaurants) within walking distance and you need to take a car. The best walks in Snowdonia, in our opinion, are around Capel Curig, Pen-y-Pass, and Llyn Ogwen, which are still a drive from the cottage.

Oven door and fridge in need of repair and wasn’t as clean as could be given the market it’s aimed at. There was an empty plastic bottle under the bed and very dusty in places. the doors are quite damaged as not painted very frequently which does let it down as the property and wider site are immaculate The remote control for the tv didn’t work properly. We don’t go away to watch tv granted but we had it on for an hour or so It was advertised as having books and games but there were none.

Cosy and warm. Very comfortable

The Stable Cottage (yellow door) was very quaint and perfect for 2. Modern kitchen and bathroom fitted. It was very warm and cosy.

It is a little out the way of Bewts-Y-Coed. We needed to drive to get there and back. The bedroom was small. This wasn’t particularly an issue for us but could be for others. More hangers for clothes would have been good.

Fantastic property in a lovely village to unwind and relax for a getaway weekend.

The location was very secluded, our host met us in person despite the heavy rain, and she was lovely and helpful when the village lost power, giving us a candle and keeping us informed at all times. The kitchen was well equipped, the place had everything you needed for a quiet getaway.

The double bed in the property with the green door felt extremely squeezed in, not leaving much space to get into the bathroom or even into the bed! Everything else was great!

Lovely quiet location just a short drive from Betws y coed and zip world. The log fire place was lovely. Warm and cosy. We enjoyed our stay overall. Ideal get away with the family.

No coffee machine or freezer, mattress in master bedroom was too small for bed and dipped down on sides. Shower overflowed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Welsh Getaway! We had the most incredible stay at this beautiful cottage in Snowdonia - Wales. From the moment we arrived, our wonderful host made us feel completely at home, taking care of every detail to ensure our stay was perfect. The cottage itself is truly unique, full of charm, character, and thoughtful touches. Every corner had something special to discover, from the cosy fireplace to the stunning views outside. It was clear that so much care and love had gone into creating this space. We enjoyed all the amazing features: a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and little extras that made our holiday even more memorable. The location was fantastic, peaceful and scenic, yet close enough to all the main attraction that allow us to explore the beauty of Wales and and only 5 min. drive from Betws-y-Coed. Whether we were relaxing inside or adventuring outdoors, it was the perfect base for our family trip. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special, unforgettable getaway!

A lovely idyllic cottage in a great location

Nice peaceful cottage which was a matter of a few minutes drive from all the activities that my family and I had planned to do. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the host was helpful and prompt in responding to questions and requests.

Due to the configuration of the cottages it felt that the outdoor cooking area and hot tub were exclusive to the largest cottage so we were a bit reticent to use them

Lovely experience - and would be happy to stay again.

Loved the semi-remote location of the cottages. Compact inside - but had everything needed for comfort (table & chairs, sofa, lovely kitchen area, bedroom and bathroom upstairs). Picnic tables available outside were a nice touch. Bench just outside the front door where we caught the last of the sun with a couple of beers - nice! The village (Betwys Y Coed) is just a short hop away and well worth spending some time in. Apparently you can walk from the cottage - we never did that. We took the car down. Plenty of eating & drinking options, shops to browse and a great wee bakery which made my head spin with all the goodies on offer! Good walk options from the village too. We walked to Swallow Falls along the river. We also did another (steeper) walk called Llyn Elsi. After the initial steep climb, it was a very picturesque walk around a lake. We appreciated a couple of days of not having to use the car to drive further afield for walking experiences. Was lucky enough to see the June Full Strawberry moon one night whilst we were at the cottage. I'm sure in the right conditions, stargazing would be amazing there too.

This cottage ticks all the boxes.

We were self catering so in terms of liking the breakfast, that was up to us. The location was superb. The beds were very comfortable, including the pillows. The wifi was fast. The shower was powerful and always hot. The whole place was nice and clean. The cooking facilities were excellent (including a barbeque outside). Parking was easy. The TV worked. No pets allowed.

Though the property had a decent sized fridge, it would probably be useful if there was a freezer, or at least a fridge-freezer.

Lovely place to stay. Would recommend and would stay at again.

I’ve stayed here twice now. Once in the blue cottage and once in the yellow. Felt very safe and comfortable. Good location for hiking. Only 20-25mins away from the Ogwen Valley visitors centre and very close to Betws-Y-Coed. I liked that I could cook my own food after a long day of hiking and didn’t have the stress of finding somewhere to eat.

A blackout blind or something in the bedroom would have been nice as I like dark and quiet but I did like that it could be opened.

Maes Madog Marvellous Cottages.

The location was stunning.The cottage was beautiful it was clean and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay.The host was lovely ,we booked last minute on the day and she was very accomodating.There was also a nice welcome gift of wine ,chocolates and Welsh cakes.Hope to return soon.
