Faja Grande is a great base to explore Flores, as it is close to the major natural attractions and yet easily accessible to Santa Cruz and the airport. It is also the Westernmost settlement of Europe :-)
Neil is a wonderful host, a gentleman from Edinburgh with excellent communication, and an easy check-in. Gave us some useful advice. The room is built in a beautiful old stone house under his property, and it is fully equipped with everything you may need, including a kitchen, clean and nicely made. Free drinks in the fridge, including alcoholic ones, were very appreciated.
While the room itself is small, there's a private pretty garden with a sitting area, to enjoy some wine and cheese when the weather allows. Excellent value for money.
Truth to be said: the room is small, and particularly the bathroom. It will be adequate for most couples, but for large people it won't be convenient coming out of the shower etc.
The wifi is weak.
Must park down the road - and walk uphill some 200m.

Very efficient communication and simple check-in. Neil is very friendly and shared a lot of information about the island and also the town of Fajã Grande.
The studio apartment is perfect for 2 people, with all needed amenities one can think of (and even more) and a little garden with barbeque. It was like a little island within an island.
The place is 10 to 15 minutes by foot to the Poço do Bacalhau, the only waterfall where one can swim.
We can only recommend this place!
