Sudiana House

I stayed at Sudiana House for 11 nights on the 2nd floor with my two elementary school daughters, and my husband joined us on the 1st floor for 2 nights. During our month-long family trip exploring Sanur, Gili, Ubud, and Kuta, staying here was truly the absolute highlight of our entire journey. [Immaculate Cleanliness & Cozy Room] The cleanliness of this property is exceptional. Not only our room, but the entire house, beautiful garden, and family temple were always perfectly organized and spotlessly clean. The towels and bed linens were freshly washed and smelled so pleasant every time. The room itself was very spacious. Even with a king-size bed, two consoles, a wardrobe, and a dressing table, we had plenty of space to keep two large suitcases fully open. The two small balconies on both sides offered a stunning view of traditional Ubud rooftops, lush trees, and the sky. Thanks to the amazing breeze, we rarely needed the air conditioning during the day—just the ceiling fan kept us perfectly cool. The bathroom was a bit compact, but it made the main room much more spacious and efficient. [The Perfect Location] Situated right in the heart of Goutama Street, the location is absolutely unbeatable, especially given Ubud's notorious traffic congestion. Everything we needed was within easy walking distance: Being able to avoid the heavy traffic and walk everywhere made our stay so much more convenient and enjoyable! [Heartwarming Hospitality & Thoughtful Gestures] The host family's hospitality was simply outstanding. They paid attention to every little detail. Whenever we casually mentioned Balinese foods we wanted to try during our chats, they remembered and bought them for us as surprises—including Balinese rice cakes, Salak (snake fruit), and delicious Pisang Goreng (fried bananas)! They also listened carefully to our sightseeing and show plans and always shared incredibly useful local tips and historical/cultural explanations.

[Note on road noise] My husband on the 1st floor said the street noise was completely blocked. On the 2nd floor, you can hear some scooter sounds, but we got used to it within 2-3 days. In fact, unless you stay in the far outskirts of Ubud, scooter sounds are something you will hear almost everywhere. It is just a natural part of the Ubud experience that you will eventually get used to and embrace as part of the journey. Unless you are extremely sensitive to noise, I still highly recommend the 2nd floor for its beautiful view and breezy atmosphere. [Emotional Goodbye] When we checked out and got into the taxi to Kuta, my two daughters cried for a long time, holding tight to the lovely gifts the hosts gave them. Even now, 5 days after checking out, they still say their time in Ubud at Sudiana House was the absolute best part of our entire one-month vacation in Sanur, Gili, Ubud, and Kuta.

Big, clean room. Big bed. It was quiet at night. Friendly owners. Good breakfast. The WiFi was a bit weak in the room. It was OK on the balcony. I think they have fast WiFi but the router is too far away from the room. It was an interesting setting - it a traditional Balinese home with a temple taking up a large part of the home.
