Lovely stay as a solo traveller, can't wait to be back

The property is absolutely lovely, with an incredibly nice family hosting, who were always available despite ongoing celebrations. The location is perfect, with many cafés, restaurants, spas, and grocery stores close by. Sites like the palace, a ridge walk, one of the monkey forest are also near, about a 20-25 min walk away. Renting a scooter is the most convenient when you go further up to the north - northeast to see some calmer areas, and beautiful scenes such as Mt Batur and Agung. The AC is well functioning, the rooms are cleaned every day, and the WiFi is good as well. I sincerely thank the lovely family for the 10-day stay as a solo traveller and I am sure I will be back when visiting Ubud again, hopefully in the near future.

I had a tiny problem with the handle of my door, but the family was super quick in having it fixed. Some additional handles in the room would be a great addition as well.

The place was cleaned everyday. The staff were extremely kind and sweet. The rooms looked beautiful and spacious and the location was great.

Some of the curtains and the walls had water stains and the rooms were slightly smelly.

Make sure your room is one of the quieter ones!

We upgraded our room to the Deluxe Family room and it was so worth it, it was really spacious and peaceful. The staff were really nice there too and it was really central in Ubud.

The Double Room we'd originally booked (the last one available on the site that day) was so, so noisy it was almost unbelievable. It felt like you were sleeping on the road! Luckily there was another room for us to upgrade too that wasn't on the road and the lady running the place was happy to help us with that.

Cozy Stay in Ubud

All the staff were lovely at Gangga Hosue and extremely helpful! My partner became injured during our stay, and these beautiful people were so kind to us, even letting us stay a little long before checking out and helping us with our luggage. Everyone is super friendly and kind.

Old but cheap.

Friendly people at this hostel. Room size very good. Low price for the area.

The room is very dated and leaks are everywhere in the bathroom. Because there is no way to close the windows, bugs are everywhere. The bed is old and the quality was low because of it. But the place still deserves a perfect rating because of the low prices.

Good value on my room but extremely noisy with street noise that is constant. Some work noise on last night late into the evening.

Noise from street. Was going to move to a quieter room but couldn’t stand the room. Not as nice at all as my original one so moved back. Staff was nice but booking.com messing was extremely poor to non-responsive. Airport pickup that was scheduled guy wasn’t there with a sign with my name. Looked 3 times through all of them. Ended up taking a grab for same price. Much better experience with grab driver.

It is a stunning Balinese property. The room and its facilities have been the cleanest I have stayed in on this trip. It is also SO close to the yoga barn and incredible cafes and is very easy to get to from the South. Stay here.

Fantastic

A great place to stay in the middle of Ubud and yet quiet. The garden is wonderful. The owners are super nice and helpful. The rooms are large, bright and clean.

Good place if you want to explore Ubud and want to stay in a peaceful place

The location is very peaceful and I appreciate the family who takes care of the place. The accommodation is walking distance to the center. The room is also big and the bed is comfortable. The internet was also good.

The place is a bit damp for some reasons but it wasn't a problem.

10/10 location, lovely family in a beautiful garden setting

This is owned by a very lovely and sweet family (and dog Filo) who helped me understand some local customs. The rooms are more like suites with sitting areas and a kitchen. Everything is on the ground floor so no tiresome hikes up the stairs. And the location cannot be beat! 5 minutes walk to Yoga Barn, ten minutes from the Ubud Market, and just next to several lovely local restaurants. The central garden is beautiful and well maintained. And even though it was ground floor, there were absolutely NO BUGS! Kind of an incredible feat in the tropics, frankly :)

If I have to choose something - the bathroom could use some updating/maintenance. There was a tub, but it looked like it hadn’t had a proper scrub in a while. The bathroom door was water damaged and didn’t shut properly, and it looked like there was a slight leak in near the toilet (clean water). But this is a very minor complaint for me, its an excellent value for a homestay!

Very cheap but not worth it.

They changed the next day the pillows because they were disgusting, dirty and moldy.

Smell of moldy, wasn’t very clean, the room has a piece of wood to cover a hole which is very annoying because you can hear very well the traffic.

Worse value for money

There is no welcoming atmosphere at all. As my friend says terrible place. No value for the money. You can find better place with much cheaper and with breakfast, when you go in you will feel as in abundant place.

My Work-cation in Bali

Wonderful hosts. The location is convenient, near to good eating places, laundry, banking, salon, spa, etc. Everything we need is within walking distance. Walking distance to Monkey Forest and Ubud Palace (can be quite hot to walk). I feel safe. It's like home away from home. Feels welcoming. I had breakfast the first morning (banana pancake), then the rest of the stay, I did some exploring around. Good for long stay

Nothing to complain about. Just the wifi was weak, and it was down for 2 days. Didn't bother me, as I have data

Bad

No hot shower. There are times when there is no water. There are also several power outages. Poor Wi-Fi connection. The cushion stinks. The bathroom floor is slimy. There were many small insects, and my body became itchy. There are two geckos in the room, and droppings are falling. The air in the room is bad and the ventilation is inadequate. I have never seen such a terrible room. I don't know why it's rated so well.

The family were friendly, welcoming and happy to help with anything. Room had good air con and was a great size with ability to lock wardrobes if u had anything valuable. lots of hot water and bathroom was also good size. matched the photos

Not recommended for a long-term stay

We paid for a week-long stay and the location is surrounded by restaurants. The room is away from the busy street and has a small balcony with plants.

During our first few nights, the host replied to our messages quickly but later that week, he no longer responded. During our last 2 days, their WiFi is not working even though we raised the concern. We also requested for a clean blanket but was replaced by a smelly one. We ended up waiting for half a day for a fresh blanket after reminding them. Basic room cleaning is available almost every day but be mindful that they will come to your room when you're not around even if you did not request them to have a room service so you might be shocked when you arrive. There are only 3 choices for breakfast so be aware if you're staying long term. One last thing, don't get the room which has a connection door because you can literally hear the conversation from the other room. Luckily, it's not occupied during our first few days of stay.

I the last morning, the host didn't provide us the Balinese breakfast as we payed, just a cake made by a bakery and a bottle of water, maybe because she consider that we are not interesting for her anymore.

Lokalita je skvelá, kúsok je obchod a hneď vedľa sú aj dobré miesta na ranajky, domáci sú milý priateľský

V izbách je naozaj hluk z ulice, moja izba mala ešte aj gekona ktorý každú noc spieval, dvere do kúpeľne boli padnuté takže boli hlasné a museli ste ich zdvíhať aby ste zavreli potichu, wifi je so-so, niekedy vypadla úplne, aj tepla voda niekedy vypadla úplne, ale po napísaní to opravili, doplnili gas a už išla aj tepla voda aj wifi, na zakrytie nie je nič len deka ktorý pôsobí že ju ani neperú, zástrčka je len na jednej strane postele, kúpeľňa pôsobí trochu špinavo ale verím že bola umytá, upratovanie je len uloženie deky. Sú to maličkosti, ktoré niekomu by ale mohli možno znepríjemniť pobyt, ocakavatelne za tu cenu.

Wat mij het meeste beviel is dat het een traditionele woning is. Het is authentiek. Niet de kamer waar ze zelf in ligt maar alles eromheen. Daar houd ik van

Omdat alles authentiek is, is het ook oud. Mij maakt dit niks uit,ik kies hiervoor, maar je moet er dus wel rekening mee houden. Sommige mensen kunnen dat niet loskoppelen van kapot of niet schoon. Dat is dus niet zo!
