Chobe Water Villas

Beautiful villas - right on the water and very nicely decorated. Same with the rest of the lodge. Stunning views from the viewing deck.

Service at the SPA was very bad. Late for all our oppointments - short on some and overrun on others. Prices of white wines on the winelist redicously - 7 to 10 times the retail price of what you pay in a bottle store.

Beautiful position on the river. Luxury accommodation and marvellous food. The boat trips were great - saw lots of animals and birds and our guide was good. Has a spa with friendly staff. Lots of lounge areas. Pool was lovely. The wait staff are lovely and friendly.

Booking.com say there is aircon - there is not. This was annoying to say the least as this was one reason we booked here. The shower water could not be regulated during the day and it was too hot. Our game trip into Chobe was disappointing. Not because we didn’t see animals - we saw many elephants and birds - it it was rushed and short. After going through two immigration points to get there we felt rather let down. Perhaps if there were specific favoured guides it would be better for the customer. The boat trips were excellent. This is an expensive place but the hassle of the Immigration was a bit much - had to exit Namibia and enter Botswana to get to Chobe Park and then do the reverse on the way back for a 2 hour game drive. If you don’t like suspension bridges, and I don’t, ask for a room that does not require using this. We didn’t know this was an option until too late. I’m sure some people would love the challenge but not if you have vertigo!!

The location was phenomenal. Loved watching the elephants graze from our cabin deck. The staff were kind and attentive, and the food was extraordinary.

The room was great with a good bed, stocked refrigerator, safe and everything you need. Right on the Chobe River, the view is spectacular., especially the sunrises. All meals and drinks were included and the food was excellent. The staff were uniformly pleasant, helpful and available. The water tours and game drives were well organized and the guides were pleasant, well informed and eager to show us the wildlife and answer our questions. We saw Elephants Lions Cape buffalo Hippopotamus Leopard Antelope water buck Antelope lechee Warthog Giraffe Impala Kudu Crocodiles Monitor Lizards Leopard tortoises Vervet monkeys Baboons Zebra and Bushback, not to mention the birds. Most of the animals took no notice of us so we were very close to them and we could stay and watch and take photos as long as we wanted.

The wi-fi didn't work in our room and was very troublesome even in the lodge area. Hopefully this was a temporary problem. Because the property is in Namibia, it's necessary to clear in and out of Immigration in Namibia and Botswana every time you enter the Chobe National Park on a land vehicle. With the boat tours clearing is not required. This situation will be the same for any accommodation in Namibia since the park entrance is in Botswana.
