Beautiful spot but needs some renovations

I've been to this park before and I love the location. I stayed with a family member in the female backpacker dorm.

In comparison with other holiday parks, this one is in need of some maintenance. The female bathroom had showers out of order. The toilet nearest our cabin smelled terrible. Our cabin steps were rotting a year ago and still no repair. The price was reasonable but why charge for the showers. It was a very short 5 minutes and the lady in the one next to me missed out after putting her coin in and nothing happened.

Really enjoy our trip😊

Me and my family really enjoy our fet away. It was peaceful for us. My kids enjoy the pool. We like it because it's not far to the town center. Office lady were very nice and help us with our booking. The cleaning lady were very polite and friendly and she done a good job. We love the flowers over the place. We will come back another time.

We didn't expect to pay for the hot water in the shower but it's still ok for $1 to 5mins.

The bungalow that we booked was very comfortable with firm beds. It was very clean and functional, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The Internet speed was good as well. The location of the Holiday Park is quite convenient, few minutes drive from the town centre. Definitely value for money. Great family vacation spot.

Great facilities to take the afternoon off from travelling

Beds were awesome not the best mattress in the world but a mattress nonetheless. You get what you pay for and more in this case with a superbly equipped kitchen lovely grounds a free use pool nice area for drying stuff and borderline luxury bunk room. There also a games room were you can ask for the equipment (free of charge) from the lovely receptionists who looked after my bags when I went on the pinnacles hike after checking out. The tv room has some good reading aswell. There’s a lovely river to sit by as you eat or a good set of benches with a nice view by the kitchen. One of my best stays in north island without a doubt was lovely to take the afternoon off here.

Location was a bit far from town however, I am a solo traveller without a car and had to walk. Most would find it perfect. Could also do with a washing machine (I’m not sure they might have one).

Price was cheap, fitted in budget. Liked that there was mini golf and a basketball hoop- Although area needed a bit of TLC. Good showers ($1-5 mins) friendly staff and it was clean

Curtains for n caravan were very thin and had big gaps. Had to hang my towels up to cover.

The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating, we stayed in unit 2 . The unit was very clean and the teenagers liked that we had wifi and a pool.

The ensuite shower in our unit was not working properly, we could not find a good temperature while having a shower, it was either freezing cold or piping hot, luckily my sister was staying in unit 1 so we had a shower in her ensuite. On the last night we wanted to watch rugby league, but found that the T.V cable wasn’t working and it was too late to get someone to sort it out, so we watched it on our phone.

A nice destination out of the cities.

A nice holiday park with plenty to do within the park and nearby. A nice river to swim in, some trails, games like table tennis, very friendly and helpful staff, and seemingly booked by overall good people. I ended up adding another night as I grew comfortable and really established myself into New Zealand, as this was my second spot I stayed during my trip. The kitchen was also pretty nice and well equipped.

The bathrooms weren't terrible, but they weren't great either. Maintained in a clean way, it was an enclave from the outdoors, but was mostly outdoors. You also had to pay for hot water in the shower and it seemed like the hot water lasted for shorter than advertised, but I never timed it or anything and I've got a very American shower preference of enjoying rather than rushing.

The bed was comfortable and the dorm cosy (albeit a little on the small side). The location is surrounded by a beautiful forest and there's a nice beach a few minutes walk away.

Family weekend away

We liked the little cabin because we have everything we need there, beds, kitchen, fridge and our own bathroom. Perfect for when you travel with little kids. We have a good time there, just bad weather and sick kids, not the best combination but we enjoyed as much as we could. It is a great playgorund in the property and another in Thames, just at 10 minutes drive, my little one loved both!

The water from the shower it wasn't hot enough, we had to open the tap from the handsbasin to make it hoter and it was raining the whole weekend so not the best shower. And also not the best clean, it was tidy but not well clean. We found a plate with saussages in the microwave, rubbish in the toilet bin and it wasn't swep/vaccum properly.

cheap and good location!

the caravan we were in didn’t have a heater so was quite chilly! Staff were quite slow and not the friendliest but we did arrive fairly late (6ish) good value for money and lots of activities at the site so can’t complain
