Comfortable clean room shower... Tea and cafe facilities....TV....fresh towels.. Beautiful fresh cooked breakfast. Staff very nice.

Fantastic hotel, friendly and very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent food, we ordered the steaks, they were first class. Beautiful cooked to order breakfast. There’s nothing I didn’t like about this little hidden gem. Would highly recommend.

I was expecting more

The nature is beautiful, the hotel is tiny, only with 10 rooms. My room was cosy and clean enough.

The service was not kind, people didn't want to work. The breakfast was very slowly and not tasty.

Would definitely recommend this hotel

Staff could not do enough for us, the place was very clean, and the beds very comfortable. Our booking included breakfast, which is served until 11 am. They offer a wide choice of options we all had the full Irish and could not fault anything. We also enjoyed a meal in the bar which was also excellent.

At least he still answers the phone and gives you some hope of getting a refund! But no hope after 4 phone calls it seems…

Bad experience. Contacted property as we had booked it and it was 15 mile away from our location (our own mistake for not realising). Contacted the property right away and asked if a refund would be possible. Owner on the phone agreed to the refund, however he has not responded to booking.com. We could have stayed if he had stated otherwise! Now we have lost on a night stay & the full night booking fee

Whom It May Concern, My husband, my 31-year-old daughter, and I had travelled from our home on the Kerry/Limerick border, a journey of approximately 160 miles, to visit the Beyond The Trees visitor experience at Avondale. We had paid 235 euros to stay at Murphy's Tinahily for one night on Saturday 2nd August Bank Holiday 2025.We had chosen Murphy’s based on its reasonable proximity to Beyond The Trees visitor experience and also with the belief that it would offer comfortable hotel-standard accommodation. On arrival, we were shocked and disappointed to find that the apartment was not located within the main hotel building, but instead in a separate, shabby structure nearby with a rough and uninviting exterior. The area was made even more unpleasant by the strong smell of cooking oil and fast food from a chip shop directly next door. The two televisions in the accommodation did not work, and while clean the overall condition of the place fell far short of any reasonable expectation based on how the hotel had been represented online. Due to the poor appearance and atmosphere, we chose not to eat at Murphy’s and were forced to drive all the way to Arklow to find a decent meal, even though we had arrived tired and hungry after a long journey. After visiting Beyond The Trees we were so disheartened by the accommodation that we returned, handed in our key, and—despite the risks of driving long distances on narrow country roads over a Bank Holiday weekend—decided to travel the entire way home rather than spend a night there. This experience has left us feeling misled, distressed, and extremely disappointed. The location is excellent with parking right outside the door. The staff are all very pleasant. The food is excellent, our room was spotless and really comfortable.

Beautiful small hotel.

Beautiful location, warm country feel to this small hotel. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and nicely decorated., location was ideal to attend wedding nearby. Taxi service to and from wedding venue.

Muddled Management at Murphy s results in poor service , unclean areas and stressed bar staff!!!

Location good. Breakfast was good.

Room 5 was over the bar so noisy at night. The downstairs areas were dingy and dirty. For ex bar window sill had dead flies on it and as the table had spilt sugar on top we moved tables for our bar meal. As there was only 1 staff member in duty, she was stressed trying to serve drinks, take orders for food , serve the food etc. So how could she manage to clear and clean tables too ?? Poor management which clearly is cutting corners. Whole place could do with a make over. Compared to the lively pub across the road which was busy ,well staffed and had atmosphere, this was a non starter of a place. It could be v good with some effort. The room plumbing system was poor. Hot water from cold taps ! Bath cold tap did n t work.

The Hotel is lovely and the staff very helpful in every way. Its in a great location in the centre of the village. The Wicklow Way passes through Tinahealy and its the perfect place to stay for this or any other walks that are close by.

Personally we probably wouldn’t stay there again but I’m sure others will appreciate its rustic charm

The staff were friendly, evening meal was rustic but completely edible. Local people were also cheerful and happy to chat about their beautiful part of Ireland.

Unfortunately the kitchen was receiving maintenance to a gas pipe, so breakfast was limited to microwaved scrambled eggs or toast, which was disappointing. We chose not to eat breakfast, it would have been nice if a discount had been offered to show good will. It’s a very quiet place and on the Monday we visited , there wasn’t much life about the place and no live music to be found.
