The Amsterdam Houseboat Family - de Pijp

The houseboat was a unique experience for us. We liked the experience of staying on the canal. The location was good and had plenty of restaurants around the area. The bed was was very comfortable and we had a very nice sleep. We liked the host Michelle, she was very nice, warm, and welcoming.

We visited during summer and we had to open the windows at night. Since it's the canal there were mosquitos all over. I think having some screen or mosquito nets would help. We stayed for 6 nights and traveling Europe for 3 weeks. There was not enough luggage and storage space for two luggage we had to open one large luggage at a time.

Absolutely perfect room on the river , very clean and friendly owners. Perfect views and little duck friends to watch go by . The lady is a girls girl for sure , absolutely everything a woman could need for her hair was here I. A basket , dryer, straighteners , mouse and more . A razor and toothpaste. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back

The property is very nice and clean. Although it's quite small (as you can see in the photos), it has everything you need to make you feel comfortable. We stayed for a week, sleeping, having breakfast, and even having dinner on one day, all perfectly. The location is perfect, very close to the historic center, museums, etc., yet in a quiet area with all kinds of amenities.100% recommended.

Nothing. It has everything you need to be comfortable. As a suggestion, maybe a second chair, even if it's foldable, would be nice.

The place is nice, They tried to make it as pleasant, the coffee machine and the basket with cosmetic supplies were a nice touch and the view of the water is a huge up-sell point. We didn't have a lot of touch points with the owners, but the ones we had they were very nice.

I know some of the reviews mentioned how small the place is, and yet I didn't expect it to be just so tiny :) But in a city where you want to spend as much time as possible out, it's really not a big problem. The issue that did bother us were: a. the bed was a really low quality Ikea bed, and lots of the planks that make the base were broken. We needed to adjust ourselves away from huge areas of the bed, as the mattress sinked down in them... We informed the owner of it, but obviously there was nothing they could do during that time to improve our experience. b. The bathroom is small, crowded, and lack of proper door to the shower itself, means that e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g gets wet... Really uncomfortable. When you combine these issues, together with a location that is a bit far from the centre, you get a way to high price tag for the value received.
