Appi Life is Beautiful

The room is clean and the bed is cozzy. And location is just next to the bus stop. It only takes 5-10 mins from the place to the ski resort by shuttle bus and the bus is free. The host is very helpful ! They pick me up from the train station because I arrived too late. Food are all good.

The room probably is a little bit small for two people with two big luggage, but I come alone so all good for me

Nothing. It’s a cheap and very basic pension located near Appi ski slopes. I have stayed at other pensions with more lively and warm atmosphere where the owners and guests mingled. So my stay here was relatively less enjoyable.

Before starting on my trip I wrote a message to the pension asking if they can pick us up from Morioka station although they already mentioned that they will pick us up from Appi Kogen station. They responded ‘don’t waste people’s time’ - I was shocked at the rude reply when a simple ‘no’ should have sufficed. I would have cancelled my booking upon seeing such horrid manners from the owner but unfortunately am held hostage because it’s a pre paid booking. This spoiled my mood for the holiday even before it started. Transport service is chargeable (except to and from Appi Kogen train station). I booked this pension because I read the reviews talking about owner driving guests to the slopes and even convenience store. Upon arrival I was surprised to find this service chargeable at 15% of the room rate (per ride). My bad for not checking in advance but I feel I should let others know. We decided to walk to and from the slopes everyday, 15/20min each way.
