Costa do Castelo Terrace, em Rua dos Lagares 8

We rented three apartments for a family of 8. The host greeted us upon arrival. He was very pleasant and gave us a quick overview of each apartment. He also made several recommendations so we would enjoy our visit more. The shared courtyard was lovely and we sat out and visited each night. We appreciated that the rooms were all comfortable and the property was very quiet as well.

We arrived in Lisbon via train from Porto. On Google maps it looked like a reasonable walk from train station to apartment but because of the hills it was a very hard walk with very steep inclines. They were impossible for the older travelers in our party and we ended up getting them a ride on a golf cart. The rest of us barely made it up the hills. Not the fault of the apartment/Host but would have been good to know beforehand that walking from train station is not a good option. Only complaint about apartment is that the bathrooms were on the small side (even by European standards).

Air conditioning did not cover the whole apartment and we were told not to use the one on the lounge( where one of us were sleeping on the sofa bed). Had to keep the windows shut because of the noise from the festival which we expected but didn’t expect the air con wasn’t up to the job. Also the manager will not assist us in getting an ear bud(tiny) back to the uk and has refused to post it to a friends mother in Lisbon he says it has to be collected. Obviously we offered to pay for this but he now won’t answer our messages. One morning we had no hot water but the problem was rectified by the time we got back.

Walking up and down a 45 degrees staircase during our 5n stay would certainly not be our choice had we know the little details before booking. And on top of walking the cobblestone hilly streets of Lisbon to & from the terrace apartment. My wallet was also stolen from my bag strapped around my shoulder. And trying to find a police station to report is another challenge because of language barrier. Feeling So unsafe as the city with full of tourists is also full of black men hanging out everywhere watching passer-by like vultures. First and last visit.
