I know this place since early 1980 and like to come again every year, even just for couple of days.
Very good location, at least for people who like to stay higher in the mountains, out of noise and crowds in the valey. The ski area is just very short distance away, so there is no need to drive a car. Beautiful view of the valey towards Zell am See on one side and Kizsteinhorn mountain with its 3200 metres on the other side.
Sometimes there may be necessity to use snow chains during winter time, depending on snow conditions, as narrow road going up twists very sharply - once you slow down, it is difficult to continue (unless you have a four wheel drive - no problem)

Exceptional
The view from the balcony, particularly in the afternoon and evening, was spectacular. Additionally, our room had a small refrigerator and we were able to keep beers and sodas in it for after skiing. Very quiet and relaxing. I was a little nervous about driving up to the Alm in the winter but the road was well maintained. No issues with the snow. There was also a nice room very close to the parking lot to keep our skis and boots in after skiing. No need to drag skis up to the room every night. Really well thought out. There are plans for a new lift beginning in December 2019 that will connect the Maiskogel hill with the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. That will make getting to and from the Glacier for skiing even easier.
