Polgwedhen Lodge

Beautiful location. The cabin was situated away from the main house overlooking the lake, and it felt like you had the place to yourself. Very doggy friendly with enclosed garden as well as grounds to walk around. Cabin was well fitted out with everything to hand, bed comfortable and a decent shower. Our host Vanda had provided a cream tea on arrival, and checked that we had everything we needed even providing a colander when I couldn't find one in the cabin. You can hear the trains nearby, but they don't seem to run at night and they didn't provide a distraction from what is essentially a very peaceful location. It is very close to Truro with plenty of supermarkets and amenities close by. It is also well situated to visit both north and south coasts of Cornwall.

The road to the accommodation is very narrow with overhanging vegetation. We were staying during a heatwave and as the cabin is wooden it did get very hot inside.

Lovely hosts and an unexpected cream tea on arrival. Lovely private setting. Everything you need in a self catering accomodation. Beautiful grounds and so quiet too.

It was a shame we could only stay 1 night, wouldve loved to stay longer!

A wonderful and cheaper alternative to a hotel. Tucked away with nothing to hear except the birds and occasional splash in the pond. Shame I was only staying one night, but I will be back when next working locally
