Our Big European Adventure!

We felt we could make the apartment our home after retiring / downsizing since it offered a lot of storage, not just for our clothes but within the kitchen was a storage area behind a door that was huge. There is a small grocery store about a 4 minute walk but go to the next town or so and you'll find Schmidt's Markte which we loved as well as Aldi. There is also a Lidl's Supermarket. The train was about a 15 minute walk through the town and with the Black Forest Konus Card you could travel thought the Black Forest on the DB Trains, trams and buses for Free! We went to Freiburg and Titisee by train. Further we took the car so we could experience the small towns.

The shower was small and we are tall so trying to wash your feet was tricky 🫨 but still the shower was nice and had an adjustable height as well as it had a detachable shower head so we could rinse the soap off our legs. The beds are the European type so twins pushed together. We like to cuddle so it felt like a trench in the middle of the bed but that's just the way it is and it wasn't uncomfortable just different than what we are used to back at home.

Very Disappointing.

The location is convenient as a base for touring the Black Forest, you get the Hochschwarzwald Card which gives free access to many attractions in the area. The bedrooms are spacious. there's a supermarket nearby. (5 minutes wal)

The house is very close to a freeway and therefore quite noisy all day long. (see attahced map). We were very disappointed with the attitude of the hostess who, in response to our request to receive extra bed linens due to our child's wetting, claimed that she had a lot of work and asked us to put diaper on our 8 years old child. (a copy of her letter is attached). When we complained she said that it's not their obligation and they don't provide room service . (email correspondence is attached) The air in the house is very damp and suffocating. the kitchen and living room are small. There is no washing machine in the apartment and no bath (shower only). The bathroom was not clean when we arrived. there were not enough garbage bags and toilet paper. We were required to pay a higher amount than the original booking amount, for paying with a credit card and for taxes that weren't mentioned at the time of booking.

Gemütliche Wohnung mit schönem Blick.

Die Wohnung ist gemütlich und mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt. Lage: Bahnhof und Geschäfte sind gut fußläufig zu erreichen und auch Wanderungen können direkt von der Unterkunft gestartet werden. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, sie hat zudem hilfreiche Empfehlungen für Ausflugsziele.

Sehr zuvorkommende, flexible, freundliche Gastgeber. Sehr saubere Unterkunft mit allem, was man benötigt. Sehr gut erreichbar und gut gelegen. Guter Ausgangspunkt für tolle Wanderungen.
