Marl Farm Cottage

Cute and comfy cottage. Good price and where we needed to be.

Not a fan of the spiral staircase! Didn’t feel safe.

Contacted the hosts before travel to get the gate codes etc. Upon arrival the place is easy to find, accessed through an electric gate. The property was open and ready for us with the keys left inside. Excellent guest pack left out that explained everything. The property itself is immaculate and equipped with everything you could need. There is no silly penny pinching here, there is washing up liquid, toilet rolls, tea towels, even a lovely bottle of red wine left for us as a welcome. It's all the little things that a lot of places leave you scrambling for fromt he supermarket next day. There are so many little finishing touches to the property that make it feel like a home from home, it is beautifully decorated and equipped to a high standard. We really enjoyed our stay here and you are so close to walks and the National Trust property Lyme House which is absolutely worth a vist. You can get a good feed and a warm welcome from Mark down the road at the Lantern Pike pub. Everything about this cottage is spot on, I would gladly return

Not a dislike, more a word of advice. If you have mobility issues then you may struggle with the spiral staircase up to the bedroom.

Smooth check in process. Very cosy cottage for two plus one dog. A lovely touch with Xmas decorations a beautiful food/drink hamper and card which was very much appreciated. Ideal location for circular walks on the high peaks. Would definitely recommend. A visit to the Pack Horse in Hayfield is a must - food is sensational. A great New Year’s trip was had. Many thanks 🤩

The property was small but nicely set up and easy to keep snug and warm. Location was great for exploring the area from Chatsworth to Manchester and of course the Peak District. Close to Glossop for shopping.
