KRIS Guest House

The place is absolutely beautiful, and the host was incredibly kind and welcoming to us. There is a lovely terrace where you can enjoy breakfast or have a drink while admiring the beautiful view of Berat. The room matched the pictures perfectly, the beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The location is truly amazing, right inside Berat Castle. You can easily explore the different parts of the castle, enjoy the wonderful views, and discover all the beautiful places around it. There are also several very good restaurants just around the corner. Parking was very easy and convenient, as they have reserved parking spaces for their guests right in front of the entrance, which was a great plus. We had a wonderful and very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this place!

There was nothing we didn’t like. Just something to keep in mind: since the property is located inside the castle, driving up can be a little tricky, especially with people walking along the narrow streets. However, it is completely manageable and definitely worth it for the amazing location!

KRIS Guest House is an amazing place to stay. The location within the walls of Berat Castle was such a unique experience. The property itself is stunning. So beautifully presented, and you can feel it is an extension of a family home. It is the family themselves, Aldi, Kris, and Kris’s wife who make the trip special. Very attentive hosts who make you feel very welcome.

Everything was perfect! If travelling by car, the entrance is through the barrier heading up to the two arch/ tunnel entrances into the castle, and so felt a little strange driving into the castle itself, but once within the castle walls there is a whole community who live up there. KRIS Guest House is signposted once you have gone through the castle archway entrances. The hill down to Berat Castle could be challenging for some. We braved it the first evening we were there, but the second day used the Berat Castle Shuttle Bus which runs every 30 minutes. We actually quite enjoyed the challenge of the climb back up, but when the weather is extremely hot, the shuttle bus is a great option at only 100 Lek each journey.

The accommodation was superb everything it said it would be and more, the room was beautiful the view was amazing, the only problem was we stayed for only one night should have stayed longer. Such an amazing place in a wonderful setting you won’t be disappointed.
