Giorgi's Homestay

I had a very special stay at Giorgi’s. Giorgi and his family are very warm and Giorgi is great company and most likely you will share a cha cha or home made wine. The location for me was perfect, up in the hill in a very local neighbourhood. 10 minute walk to town or super quick taxi. Clean bathroom with warm shower. If you are looking for a welcoming Georgian stay you can’t do better. Also incredibly good value

My stay here was truly wonderful. Giorgi is a very welcoming host and from the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. His hospitality is unmatched. On arrival I was welcomed with a shot of chacha and he gave me some grapes from his own vineyard Giorgi. There’s always tea and biscuits available, and Giorgi is generous with both his time and stories. I enjoyed talking to Giorgi about the history of his country, including some interesting stories about a previous owner of the house who was sent to a gulag camp during the Stalinist era and his grandfather fighting in WWII on the Eastern Front. The house itself is large, spotless and full of character. My room and bed were perfect, and the terrace is a great place to relax. Giorgi’s two lovely dogs, an english cocker spaniel and a husky, make the place feel even more like home. There’s also a well-equipped kitchen downstairs for guests to use. I genuinely loved my stay here - Giorgi’s was the best guesthouse I stayed at during my two and half weeks in Georgia. Highly recommended!

Booked based on excellent reviews, but not sure what the hype is about. For a homestay it’s pleasant enough, with an okay shared bathroom. Located on a steep hill not as close as other properties, but walkable to centre. No breakfast and no cafes in the immediate vicinity. My bf is tall and said the bed was too short for him; I was fine. Could get something better for the price
