L'antica Locanda Dell'Orso

This was our second time staying here mainly because of the location. It is close to so many interesting places. The front desk people are so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed conversing with them every time I passed by.

The rooms are very compact. This time I got the room with an extra single bed which helped as we used it to place our clothes. The closet was super shallow and had a strong smell. I still used it for a few items after spraying some cologne in it which did not help much. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations in the hallway and other rooms.

There was no breakfast. Location was great

The location was very good, and the receptionist was really kind and promptly assisted us when we reported issues with the bathroom and the bed, changing the room for us. However, unfortunately, she couldn’t resolve the other problems, especially those related to the poor quality of the walls.

The main problem was the poor quality of the walls, we could hear everything, really everything, from the neighboring rooms, even small noises like zippers on bags and entire conversations in detail, even when guests tried to speak quietly (as we did once we realized the situation). During our stay, we were woken up several times by alarms from other rooms and guests leaving early for trains and flights, at 3:30 a.m., 5 a.m., and 6 a.m. Our first room also had a very bad smell in the bathroom and an uncomfortable bed, so we asked to change rooms on the second day. The issues with noise remained, and the bathroom in the second room had problems with the flush. The hotel staff was kind and helpful, but unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing (and exhausting) for a vacation, as we couldn’t get a proper night’s sleep or rely on the basic comfort expected from a hotel stay.
