The room was nicely appointed, the beds good, and having the balcony overlooking the street was a New Orleans kind of experience. At some point an owner cared enough to do a nice renovation on the rooms and bathrooms here but that was a whole ago. The woman on the desk during the day understands hospitality and was very helpful however the guys in the desk at night were surely, ignorant and not helpful.
THE INTERNET NEVER WORKED AND THEY DIDN'T CARE! The guys on the front desk, in the evening, knew it was broken but indifferently kept giving me passwords anyway. This is DEFINITELY not a hotel for people over 40. You carry your bags up a very old and long flight of dangerously uneven stairs. Only after there would be no refund, the day of checking in, I got an email explaining it's a very noisy area. The speakers for a VERY LOUD DANCE CLUB are right under the old floor boards of the hotel room. It's the kind of club where you can't hear the person right beside you, because of thumping music. The parking is 1/2 a block down the street and the front desk clerk has to walk there with you to get you in or out. If you're a carless, out until 1am club person who goes to the gym and doesn't mind carrying bags up and down old uneven stairs, then you'd enjoy partying hard here. Otherwise AVOID!

Friendly staff and central location. Also, the room had a really noce balcony.
- Could be noisy during the night due to its location.
- The prices for the laundry are very expensive.
- Waiting time to be served breakfast is mor than 30-40 minutes.

The hotel is small and cosy situated inside an old building with charm! The location is in the heart of the city, with limited street parking and some off street parking, although it was not located within the building! The main problem with this hotel is the noise. The hotel is surrounded by night clubs and bars and it was very difficult to sleep with the music blasting until the early hours of the morning! It is a pity as the rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious, but I would not stay there again due to the noise levels at night!
The noise levels from the surrounding clubs and bars made it hard to sleep! Limited parking on the street, with offstreet parking down the road.

The location is incredible if you want to be part of the long street nightlife. And even if you want an earlier night, the windows and doors are double walled so the sound is very manageable. The room was very pleasant and the balcony with a view (and couch) was lovely for sunrises and late nights alike. Staff are very friendly and professional. Overall an excellent experience.
Nothing, it was great.

Brilliant helpful staff, all of them, receptionists and cleaners. Can`t speak highly enough of them. Once checked out we could sit in lounge whilst waiting to leave for the airport. Excellent location for sampling Long Street.

Staff was great, the room lovely. It's on Long street and I stayed over a Friday night so the evening gets loud but the hotel does warn you about the location beforehand. They also have double windows which I think helps with general traffic noise which I don't remember hearing, it only gets noisy when the clubs and restaurants have their DJs on later in the evening so if you're mid week I'd expect it to be less loud. Walking distance to a lot of eateries and entertainment

Very good staff, I felt very safe.
There’s a bar downstairs, so I was lucky I had earplugs with me. Slept very well.

I liked the location the most
The room did not have a separate bathroom or toilet.
What I saw online was completely separate to what I received very disappointing.

I loved the cleanliness and attentiveness of the staff. I got sick on my second day, and they helped me find the nearest pharmacy. I had to go to the hospital, and when I didn't come back they called to check if I was ok. They were also kind enough to carry my bags up and down the stairs. If you are a light sleeper, the noise level will not be good for you. I knew when I booked that the street was noisy, but I thought I could stomach it. The location is not good because of the noise, but it is safe and central, within walking distance to everything I needed.
Just the noise, I think because I was not feeling well generally.

Fabulous location with easy access to the hop on/off bus, the beautiful Company gardens, museums and galleries. Welcoming staff who made me most comfortable. I felt very safe. The view from the veranda was pretty cool!
Nothing, honestly!

Fantastic shabby chic hotel in the heart of long street. Loved the corner room, full of original character. The new owners are working very hard to make it a great place to stay.
Massive thank you to Ramano & Claire and all your amazing staff for a memorable stay.
Cant wait to visit Cape Town again and would definitely return to your hotel.
Brian & Clare
It can be a bit noisy at the weekend, but you are bang in the middle of the best street in Cape Town 😀
Talking to the owners they are working very hard to sound proof all rooms to make your stay a pleasant one.
There's a old saying, if you cant beat them, join them😂 and enjoy the night life of Long Street.

We booked the accommodation at Longstreet Boutique Hotel based on the fact that they advertised it as a 4 star hotel. We trust the work that is done by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa hence whenever an establishment says they are graded, one would not doubt their standards.
They do not meet the requirements for a boutique hotel according to the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.
Our findings are:
1. They donot have a covered parking on their premises. We had to park at the corner & walk to the hotel entrance.
2. The hotel entrance is not ventilated. There is a smelly carpet before we got to the reception.
3. The level of professionalism is very questionable. The lady who claims to be the general manager told us we need to call Bookings.com to express our dissatisfaction. We asked her about the star Grading and she confirmed it's a 4 star establishment, she became angry when we asked her to show us the Grading certificate. I reminded her that the certificate would be displayed if really they were graded.
While we were communicating with Booking.com she asked us for our phone so she can clarify something with them, she spoke to the agent and dropped our call. When we asked her why she dropped the call, she said "I can give your airtime".
We ended up leaving & we booked ourselves at Ilanga du Cap, a 3 star hotel with a certificate to prove it. That's were we enjoyed our holiday.

I loved the location and its convenance to so many other places. I love the staff members, so friendly and so kind. I love how our room was always kept clean and fresh when we come back from the tiresome day trips. It was just awesome. we loved it!
I guess the stairs, although there's nothing that can be done about it.

Good. Spacious and comfortable.
The cleaning staff was rude and not well trained. The staff started cleaning the common area while I was eating there.

The property is lovely and conveniently located.
Unfortunately, there is a bar nearby and the music was very loud into the night!

Great location. Was exactly what I expected. In the central of Long Street don’t expect it to be quiet at night. Did get quiet after 2am, but this was no bother. They have an honor bar in the lobby for beers, wine, chips, etc. there are some stairs fyi. Outside on the street lots of clubs and some restaurants. Only 5minute walk from Kloof Street House - a wonderful restaurant. Overall I would stay there again. Our room, Number 1 was fabulous with a wonderful balcony overlooking long street. Awesome!
A bit noisy after 9 or 10 at night, but that was to be expected!
