Quinta de Recião

The location was lovely, quiet road by the river, easy to the explore the valley from here with a car, although roads very narrow and steep in places. Great experience staying in an old stone house with modern kitchen and bathroom. Would have been great to sit on covered deck in the sun if the weather had been warmer. Francisca very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of places to go.

Location the historical mill being preserved and the peace

Havre de paix avec vue sublime. Chaleureux, bien équipé, hôte super sympathique et très discret respectant notre intimité. Service repas bien correct et efficace. Nous avons été accueillis par deux petit chien hyper joyeux et attachants, Piratos et Uva. Ils venait nous voir chaque jour et passer un peu de temps avec nous en demandant quelques caresses. Ils sont notre gros coup de coeur! Si jamais on retourne au Portugal, nous y retournerons assurément! Recommandé +++

Situation géographique moins adapté à visiter les environs à pieds. Rivière baignable mais non accessible à pied car trop de branchage et de grand foins.

Just an amazing out of town, overlooking the vineyards and hills “chalet”. The property sits across from a small river that rambles, contributing to the great views. It is also exceedingly private, though just up the windy road is a cute little market with a little bit of everything. It is in the heart of the Quinta’s, making winery visits easy, as well as access to Pinhão and Lamego.

I would think that being in wine country, there would have been some decent wine glasses and the kitchen could have had a few more utensils. It was such a lovely place that we cooked in 2 of the 3 nights and there was only one kitchen knife. Would also think a bit better grill. But that said, I also understand not everyone treats rentals, as their own so owners are careful about including too much and too nice things.
