Bublající fontána přes celou noc rovnou pod oknem. Pokud se větrá, tak to je rušivé. Kdyby šel nastavit časovač, aby se na noc vypínalo, bylo by to skvělé. Nedostatečně velká místnost na uložení kol.

We had a great stay at Metzgerwirt with half board. We had two rooms, one of which seemed to have been renovated fairly recently, while the other had a more traditional Austrian style. Both were spacious, comfortable and charming in their own way. The food was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast was excellent, with a very extensive buffet and everything you could possibly need before an active day in the mountains. Dinner was equally impressive. There was always something delicious to choose from and the quality of the kitchen was consistently excellent. The location is also excellent for exploring Tirol. There are countless hiking opportunities and beautiful mountain lakes nearby, while places such as Innsbruck are easily accessible for a day trip.

A few minor points: The hotel has its own butcher shop, which clearly shows in the quality of the meat. As a result, meat does feature quite prominently on the menu. With one pescatarian in our family, a little more variety in non-meat dishes would have been welcome, although there was always an alternative available. On two evenings the restaurant was particularly busy, once because of a wedding celebration and once on a busy weekend evening. Service consequently took quite a bit longer than usual, which tested the patience of our hungry children a little! On the other evenings, however, everything ran smoothly.

It's a very clean hotel, the food was quite good and the property is in a quiet location with really easy access to the train that takes you up and down the valley.

The advertising for the property is a bit misleading. The traditional Tyrol restaurant, which is what the property is best known for, is not available to hotel guests. Hotel guests instead must eat at the much more modern restaurant, which is still quite nice, but not the rustic Austrian Alps atmosphere we were hoping for. Also, only a few rooms have the stunning mountain and valley views that are in all of the pictures. Despite paying $300/night for a Junior Suite, our room faced the other direction and had a view of a parking lot. Finally, you should probably be aware that the staff speaks very little English (and the manager spoke no English). Typically this wouldn't be a problem and would add to the cultural experience, but it presented some serious challenges like when we were asked to pay via international wire transfer when checking out because their credit card processor wasn't working...
