Great time in a comfy and very clean cottage

The cottage was super comfy and clean. Easy check in, great response time from the host, very good location, available parking. we also liked the fact it was very quiet and the surroundings offered a lot of options for different activities outdoor. We just loved it and hope to come again!

It just needs new kitchen towels and a table cloth.

Wonderful stay in a quiet and peaceful location. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable – a perfect base for exploring both the nearby islands and the Highlands. Beautiful surroundings, private and calm, yet close to everything you might want to see. We truly enjoyed our time here!

One of the best places to stay

The photos cannot prepare you for such a place. We were amazed from the first moment. Unbelievably quiet house with beautiful garden full of flowers in bloom, beautiful surroundings and a fantastic view from the terrace. Fully equipped apartment with everything we needed. One of the best places we've visited so far.

Oasis of calm

Everything! Cottage ideal for 2 warm cozy with all equipment needed. Bed is super comfy. Lovely walks from the house itself surrounded in its own extensive grounds. Peaceful holiday with lots to do in the area. Local grocer is a delight. Thoroughly recommended

This charming, beautiful clean, self catering property provided everything we could ever need for our holiday. Set in stunning surroundings with plenty of walks from the cottage. Easy access to Oban. A village shop, Post Office , Tea Room, Hotel and a Railway Station. All added to a perfect stay.

Great stay at Bonawe! Easy access to multiple spots in the area.Loved the surrounding gardens.

Beautiful property. Spacious cottage! Loved the small town. Owners put a lot of time researching places to go, eat , cycle, visit… even for folks who didn’t have a car. Very nicely done. Nice to have laundry facilities on site too. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Check in was easy.

Spotlessly clean, comfiest beds (best sleep I've ever had on vacation), very cozy accomodation with everything you could possibly need. Good wifi. The location is exceptional with killer views from the front garden, under an hour driving to Glen Coe hiking paths, some half-hour driving to Oban ferry to Mull for daytrips, and lovely walks right around Taynuilt (Riverside Walk much recommended, it's easy and very pleasant). Neighbours across the little road behind the property were also lovely and let us give the bottle to their orphaned lambs 🤩 Do not miss Kilchurn Castle nearby. The castle ruin is very cool and highland coos are just roaming around (no worries they are very chill) without hords of tourists!

Wonderful location and views, very spacious living area in the Edwardian Wing with lots of books, well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. Downstairs toilet very useful.

The location was great, the hosts were great and the property was nice. Not the most stylish or comfortable of places Ive staye dbut the beds were very comfortable and for me, my Mum and kids it was ideal.

A perfect location for a romantic weekend, either around the grounds, nearby or a visit to Oban.

The location was simply beautiful. It was at the end of the road, nestled amongst trees with views across fields, the loch and mountains. There were walks in all directions that were full of trees, animals, scenery, The property was very well appointed. Very clean. Comfortable bed. TV and DVD (with a huge selection) for any wet evenings. Excellent kitchen facilities. Lovely shower/bathroom. We came for a romantic anniversary visit and we were not disappointed. We will be back.

We liked the place but 3 days was too much.

Very lovely place, but honestly if you are not a fisherman there are not so many place to visit. But you must visit Oban if you like seafood, the lovely place at the peer with comfortable price.

Country cottage that has it all.

We stayed in Clematis Cottage. Everything was perfect. The cottage and the grounds were wonderful. There is a laundry shed that came in handy too. We especially enjoyed the lambs in the meadows behind the cottage.

Getting in the tub could be an issue for those with mobility issues.

Superb

We feel so fortunate to get this house! We had an amazing time there...the location, the peaceful area, the trees and flowers, even the animals...waking up in the morning and having coffee with that view! We loved our little village. The location was excellent, near Oban and the lakes, really helped our road trip. We could cook and enjoy lunch at the house. The directions were incredibly helpful and the rest information included. :) Thank you! Hope to see you again soon!

A quiet country location perfect for couples or close friends to spend time together.

Although down some back roads, the location was beautiful. Garden is gorgeous, full of beautiful flowering bushes and trees. The sheep in the pasture and the mountains in the background make for a peaceful, bucolic view. The ability to do a small load of wash was fantastic.

We were too warm, wish we could have opened windows more to increase cooler airflow.

Extremely comfortable flat in a stunning location - everything we needed and first rate hosts.

Beautiful location, helpful but unobtrusive hosts, spacious and well equipped flat which was warm and cosy despite the freezing weather conditions. Thoughtful little touches like a range of teabags available. Also impressed by the environmental responsibility of the hosts.

Lovely location and very quiet

The bathroom window. No frosted glass, the blind did not cover the whole window. This masde using the loo quite awkward. If I still had ny wife, she would not have stayed a second night. This was potentially a deal breaker.

Beautiful location outside of Oban

Have tea or breakfast at The Robins Nest. The 2 lovely ladies that served us were interesting to talk with. Have the toasties. I had a banana one that was like a panini. We took the train into Oban. Fun! Walk through the property to the freaky bridge.

The area, the peaceful & quiet surroundings

On the website under faculties it says the cottage has a washing machine, but in fact it's in a shed to which you have to pay for, it would be better if this was stated as nowadays we tend to pay for everything either by card or phone.

A wonderful place to stay in Scotland, with everything needed, a very peaceful and scottish view, and a very, very nice and caring host. We had no car and used the train, and the domain was easily reachable. We also recommend the short walk to Inverawe smokehouse.

It felt like coming home! We stayed at the Edwardian Wing and it was awesome. There was so much space and the rooms were lovely decorated. We were perfectly happy staying at Bonawe House. Thanks to Renate and Damon!! The whole place is just unique!

Bonawe House and Cottages, great location, fabulous scenery, lovely cottages and would happily recommend staying there

loved the property, and the location was ideal as we had come to Scotland to enjoy the west coast and see the sites. it was an easy location for Mull, Iona and the west coast. The cottage is well equipped, very comfortable, clean and really good value for money. I was really impressed as the property has a charging point for electric vehicles. The warm welcome and hospitality given by Renate made our stay, and as result we will be returning, thank you.
