Fair price and location.
Too cold. The sleeping room was not heated. I stayed at the place in november.

• good communication with the owner
• comfortable mattress and warm duvet
• good location
• cleanliness could be improved
• room temperature could be a bit higher
• no hair dryer :( with low temperatures and long hair, it was a challenge

Cheap and quiet - that was ideal for me, staying just one night on my own. Three other people were there that evening, and they were all friendly, and very quiet at night. Frank came by to welcome me and the other new guest. A very friendly and open person. Thank you Frank for this opportunity!
Of course, one should not expect big luxury for such a low price. And, as other reviews have mentioned, one has to answer some questions about cleaning etc. during the booking process. However, I think that's understandable, and not too big of an effort.

The price is excellent for what you get and the owner, Frank, is very friendly and talkative. Also, it is 10 minutes away from the Helmond train stop, which is 10 minutes away from Eindhoven Central Station, so you can manage to be in Eindhoven in 20 minutes. I would recommend it for sure.
Maybe some areas could be a little cleaner, but I guess that the self-sufficiency style of the hostel implies that you are aware of that so that you manage to do it by yourself. If you don't like it, just go somewhere else (much more expensive).

First of all let me inform you that this is the best value for money that I have experienced so far in my travels. With that value comes an honourable contract with Frank that you will look after everything according to his specifications. If we all do our best to put everything back in its place of origin, keep the limescale and any other residues at bay by drying everything after we have used it, treating each other with respect and communication, anyone can enjoy immense value for money and learn from reciprocation and co-operation. It goes without saying that there are opportunities to meet lots of different people at a hostel and that's exactly what I was able to experience here. As many older and wiser people have told me before "Life is what you make of it." This is a prime example - put in a bit of conscientiousness and care and receive the same as well as incredible cost effective living that is mutually supportive (of course we can all make mistakes too, but it is the attitude of care that matters). Well done Frank! Keep going and I hope others will appreciate what you are offering. P.S. Your art in the hallway dispelled many of my otherwise occupied moments and made the stay very enjoyable too.
Nothing to say here really. It is an experience for particular people who are suited for this. When Frank emails you with guidelines about how it all works, you are getting exactly "What it says on the Tin." If you don't like it / or want it and the considerable benefits that it entails, then it is not for you.

- lockers and enough space for luggage
- host is friendly and helps with anything
- location is very convenient
- the place is quite dirty, there were spiderwebs and questionable spots in a lot of spaces, the shower curtain was moldy, and the general smell reminded me of a wet basement. Also, my bed had fingernail clips, hair, and dirt on it when I arrived...
- I saw a rat running around the garden quite close to the dorm, which scared us to open the door to let fresh air in
- personally, I was fine with it because my roommate were trustworthy, but the shower could not be locked, so be prepared
- there was so soap or dishsoap around which was quite inconvenient

I stayed 6 nights at this hostel, and unfortunately, it was one of my worst experiences on Booking. The host was unfriendly and acted in a strange, controlling manner. He constantly monitored guests' water usage, claiming it was to protect the wooden floors and save money-but despite this, the hostel was not clean. Beds were not changed between guests, and some arrived to find dirty sheets still in place.
Several listed amenities were either missing or not usable. Guests were expected to dry their hands and even the wet wooden floor with used towels.
Privacy was also a serious issue. The host entered the dormitory at random times without warning and kept track of how often people showered or moved around. Conversations with him often felt tense and confrontational.
Worse, I noticed rats near the dormitory room, which is completely unacceptable in any accommodation.

The hostel owner sent some strange, unclear questions that had ended up in my email spam folder. My reservation was confirmed and was never canceled, even though the owner had known for several weeks before my arrival that I wouldn’t be allowed into the hostel—simply because I hadn’t responded to those mysterious questions. And that’s exactly what happened: I arrived, but no one was there. The phone number doesn't work, and no one replies to emails. No one showed up for 6 hours, and I was left on the street.
The next day, I received a message from the owner saying that the money would not be refunded, as he had supposedly suffered losses due to other guests. According to him, I should be happy, because this would be a cheap life lesson.
Frank, with this move you’ve seriously messed with your karma. And those €45 you kept will be nothing compared to the losses that are yet to come. ✌️

I like the owner, good price, nice garden, spacy rooms. If you are group of friends you can spend evening inside. Good option if your goal is cheap travel, you are clean, friendly and like to meet new people. Theres a kitchen and a cooler. You can use free bikes. Theres a lot of good restaurants around and great Computer museum. If you getting along and like sports you can get a free martial arts/ fitness training 👍
No too much, its all shared so not much privacy but im real ok with it.

We loved that the hostel is a home with a little garden out the back. There is one bedroom with six beds, which means there isn't an overwhelming amount of people in the house, and we made good friends with the other guests. It's very peaceful inside and outside, and if you get a chance to talk to Frank, you'll have some interesting and deep conversations. The location was good too - on days where we didn't go into Eindhoven you can find a lot of shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants just a few streets away. There's also a lovely, small, old castle a 10-minute walk away. You can do tours or just take a seat in the park around it and enjoy the view. They sometimes have concerts there in the evenings too.

Nulla, perché è un truffatore
After i did not answer him 5 stupid questions within 24 houres, he let me wait the day i arrived at Eindhoven, to tell me he would not give me the code for the room, and After saing he would have give me back my Money, he refused, even if i never even entered his home

The quietness and easy going friendliness
Nothing, when taking into account this is a concept that involves simple routines and agreements before being a guest.b

Amazing owner Frank, thank you for nice conversation! I enjoyed the concept of cleaning up after yourself immediatelly, because it was clean all the time while we were staying. The lockers to leave your stuff in are extremely helpful and spacious too. We've had one of the coziest sleeps here! Overall it was a nice stay when we needed just a place to crash while exploring.
If anybody is allergic to down feather bedding - the pillows are from feathers, though the quilt was not!

I slept really well for the 5 nights, the area is super quiet and 12 minutes walk into helmond city and 12 minutes walk from the airport.
The bed was comfortable, the shower was warm and the place was clean and affordable.
There's also bikes available to rent which is good and a swimming pool close by which I used.
It was cheap and cheerful for the five nights.
I would have liked if the fridge in the dorm actually worked as I had to use the fridge in the kitchen.
I had a perfect stay during the 5 days as there was only one other person but in the summer when it gets busy,
it would be great if there is an outside door in the shower as opposed to just two curtains, one for the shower and one entering the shower.
I think for safety and peace of mind a door to the shower room would help.

Thanks for your hospitality, man!

The 'later than usual' check out time is a huge plus. It enabled me to return and have a shower after running the Eindhoven half marathon, before proceeding to the airport.
Key code front door lock is convenient, cause you don't nee to carry around keys..
Hot shower.
Lockers for valuables.
Very convenient location. Less than 10min walk to the train and bus station.
I was allocated a floor level bunk as requested.
Handy alcove to put stuff next to bed.
Bedside light plus power outlets conveniently next to the bed.
I was alone in the dorm.
Plenty of information was made available prior to my stay, including a video, so I knew exactly what to expect.
Internet code provided in an email along with the door code, so you can connect from just outside the property if needed. This is handy, should there be any changes eg. door code, or dorm bed re-allocation. This shows that the host has considered those, like myself, who don't use roaming broadband. Most hosts don't consider such things, so Frank gets two thumbs up from me.
Friendly host.
These are observations, not deal breakers.
The configuration of the dorm doesn't make sense. The shower appears to be in a sort of kitchen. Where should you wash your hands after using the toilet?
Big opening above toilet door.
Lots of manky old 'left items' clutter up the place (free stuff).
Empty left shampoo bottles in the shower (free stuff). I get the idea, but it doesn't add to comfort.
Not sure why there's a mini fridge way up above the normal fridge.

It was a great way of helping internationals visit this lovely section of the Netherlands :)
The dorm was reasonably clean and had all sorts of facilities, and the beds were comfortable. The place is near the train station which is very convenient if traveling to Eindhoven.
I also found it really funny that one of the toilets was super high. It was like a "being short simulator". Definitely not a negative thing! But that's just a detail ;)
There was someone snoring very loudly during my stay, which isn't really Frank's fault but definitely a risk when staying in dorm rooms.
I also found the blankets were a a lot too warm for the summer, but you should be able to replace them if desired.

The bed was comfy.
Easy to access the place.
Good location
The Loo seat was really high and unconditional
Because if I make any noise everyone in room will hear that.
Bathrooms no door. You could see it in pictures.
Room was freezing cold. I was under the blanket to keep my body warm.
However, the place is great for the value of the money comparing with other places in Netherlands.
I really do appreciate the owner effort to make the place cheap and affordable for everyone.
The place its great to meet new people and really great people.
Ones again the place its great for the value of the money.
Thanks Frank for your kindness.

Frank was a really nice man and the Hostel was a really in an idyllic little city. The hostel was beautiful, and it was really easy to feel like home there. When I stayed it was only me in the dorm room, but it was nice to get a relaxing quiet couple of nights there.
It was a bit dirty, like how you would expect a clean youth hostel being. It was a "Leave it as you want to find it" policy, and I do believe it worked pretty well. At least when I was there. So I do not have any real complaints.

Good price. Helpful host in some ways. Central location in helmond. Large communal area. Many kitchen facilities.
Very unclean towels and sinks. Hard to dispose of rubbish. Unreasonable communication and not appropriate behaviour from host. Its possible the host suffers from mental health problems maybe.
