Casa Dos Pombais

Beautiful Portuguese villa in the centre of town. Easy walking access to all sites. Safe parking and great breakfast. Would highly recommend along with the authentic Portuguese restaurant called ‘Taberna Trovador’ Best meal we have had in Portugal so far and very reasonably priced.

We loved our spacious and quiet room, along with its modern and clean en-suite bathroom. The location was perfect for access to shops and to the magnificent historic centre, and we were able to park safely in the forecourt.

Lovely old 'manor house' type of building with free parking area at the front - although the access is quite narrow!! Located about a 10 minute walk from the old city. I think there are only two rooms that are let and due to the nature of the building the rooms have very thick walls (free wi-fi in public areas only), and so they are very cool if a little dark. There is lots of antique furniture. Breakfast was served in the dining room with a table for each room. The selection was plentiful with cereals, ham & cheese, yoghurts and pastries and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Was a great location with excellent parking

Constant barking of dogs on the property, even during the night. Lack of attention to detail. Kettle/coffee facility in room would be appreciated instead of having to go to the kitchen. The bathroom badly needs upgrading. Shower over bath was dangerous as no anti slip mat. Lack of breakfast items an issue, only 1 black tea bag. Cereal jar on table almost empty. With a bit more care and attention could be so much better
