Tuscan farmhouse retreat

The location is perfect for quiet and peace but still only a 8 min drive to the nearest supermarket

This is a series of apartments that share a communal space with pool, lawn Bbq. The listing does not make that very clear

Our 1st time to Italy and Tuscany in particular and it didn’t disappoint.

The property is very Italian, it is situated near the coast and is located in a rural area. Lovely setting

as it’s rural, there are a lot of mosquitoes but the property has precautions to prevent getting bitten.

Nice old appartment located in quiet environment

Good location: quiet but close to Carrara and Lucca Appartment: lots of space and all equipment you need (except airco). The appartment was very clean.

A good base to visit places in Tuscany.

The location was excellent to reach destinations, both in the North like the Cinque Terre and the medieval towns in the South. It is also a very quiet and relaxing place.

The apartment could do with some modern furniture and a proper kitchen. The tap water was very rusty.

Great two weeks vacation between the beaches of Viareggio and the mountains of Carrara

We liked the accommodations, we had a separate large villa with 3 bedrooms in the middle of an olive tree orchard. We had fresh eggs available and the owner Lucca, welcomed us with a bottle of Proseco made on location

Feels like home… sometimes even too much

First, good communication with the staff. Very clean, spacious place, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private garden and terrace. the dog stays for free which was a nice surprise. super quiet (as per location) and very good distance to everywhere (half hour drive from Pisa & Lucca, close to the beach, close enough to Cinque Terre, nice restaurants around and huge supermarket nearby). Nice and homey place, but…

The place feels like home but sometimes too much. Like at times you may feel you’re at someone’s home and need to adjust to them. You feel like staying in the garden and enjoy the sun but just then the noisy tractor has to come out to mow the grass. The best was when we were informed the checkout is at 10.00 and then at 9.00 on that day the worker appears on the terrace, moving our stuff and starting to bang with a hammer to fix the tiles… just at this point the communication with the staff ended. Not cool… Also, the info on booking was misleading - there is no restaurant, no breakfast available - not a problem for us, but I’d advise to update the info. The pool was a disappointment with swimming caps required… Quite awkward, plus would be nice to add the info on booking that the pool is in a different place than the room. Not far, but still advisable to inform the people beforehand.

Il Chicco d'Oro is a good choice to stay when visiting Viareggio region. The host Luca is very friendly and willing to help. We stayed in a very spacious (3-bedroom) appartment with a large garden. A few kilometers of the coast, it's a quiet, well-equiped and clean place to stay.

Being isolated it was very quiet It also had all facilities eg washing machine, iron, hairdryer, which a lot don’t have

A lot of mosquitos Grounds were not well maintained for guests eg long grass Host was very rude on our arrival. The bell didn’t work and all gates were locked. We called out for 15 minutes and then tooted the horn which drew his attention. He came out and gave us a lecture about tooting the horn. Shower was high up and quite dangerous for someone who is elderly

Disponibilité et convivialité de l'hôte, qui parle parfaitement anglais, mais aussi discrétion pendant le séjour. Logement spacieux et confortable, avec tout ce qu'il faut pour se protéger des moustiques (moustiquaires sur toutes les ouvertures, matériel anti-moustique pour l'intérieur et pour l'extérieur, ...). Grand espace extérieur privatif.

L'annonce pourrait préciser que la piscine se trouve à 5 à 10 minutes à pied du logement, et qu'un bonnet de bain est nécessaire. Un four à micro-ondes pourrait être un plus.
