Ideal location for a Cape Town stay

Our 8-night stay in the two-bedroom apartment belonging to Purple House exceeded our expectations. Everything you can see on this site was there, everything worked, the road was quiet at night, the beds were comfortable, the area felt safe and welcoming, it's not far from the V&A Waterfront, and Henk (who along with Guido manages the property) was a kind, attentive, non-intrusive, helpful and communicative host. If I go back to Cape Town I would love to stay here again.

It met and exceeded our expectations due to our hosts

This property was ideally suited to our requirements. It was stylish and contemporary in its decor and very comfortable. A well equipped kitchen allowed us to self cater when we needed to. It is located in a wonderful and vibrant area with easy access to city attractions. The hosts are friendly and welcoming with a great knowledge of the area and good contacts, an exceptional team who made our visit to this wonderful city a memorable experience.

A home from home!

The location is perfect to discover the city. In my opinion Waterkant is the best place to stay in CT. Felt like a home from home with a village vibe. In walking distance to the supermarket and plenty of lovely cafés and restaurants. Furnished to a very high standard and great views from the roof top plunge pool overlooking Table Mountain. Henk is such a lovely person! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Nice place

A very good and safe place. The house is well-equipped and very comfortable. Free parking is available in front of the house. The owner is very nice. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place.

Location and the area it self had wonderful food options. Henk was super friendly and kind!

The amenities were beautiful and the home tastefully styled, but the only thing missing was a braai tong—a handy companion for the Weber we enjoyed using.

Home away from home .... We loved it and will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Purple House. Henk was an excellent communicator prior to arrival and during our stay when required. When we walked into our accommodation we immediately felt at home. Gorgeous décor, complimentary bottle of wine, water, tea/coffee and milk, comfy bed. We'll be back!!

Clean, comfortable apartment in a very cool neighborhood.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was very spacious for my husband and me. It could fit 4 adults comfortably. It was a great location with easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Henk was very friendly and provided lots of information about the neighborhood and Cape Town. I would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed our stay in Capetown esp staying in this accomodation. Easy to Uber to around town.

Excellent accomodation for my family! Good and safe location. Supermarket just across the street and many restaurants around. Townhouse well equipped and I like the small gestures of providing laundry detergent and cooking condiments. Hosts were very responsive and helpful.

Great stay

We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment is very comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen, complete bathrooms with great showers, and good quality towels and bed linens. One of the bedrooms doesn’t have a heater or air conditioning, but that didn’t affect our stay. There’s a charming fireplace in the living room that heats the space nicely. The highlight is definitely the amazing terrace with a stunning view of Table Mountain – unfortunately, it was too cold to fully enjoy it during our visit, but it’s a fantastic feature!

Perfect location to be able to explore Cape Town.

The location was great. The apartment perfectly suited our needs and had anything we possibly needed for our week long stay. We loved the private rooftop patio. Guido was quick to respond to any questions we had about Cape Town and checked in on us throughout the week. We would highly recommend Purple House and we would stay again.

Amazing apartment, safe and quiet location

Amazing location, super safe with security on the streets and our car was fine parked out front the whole stay. Super friendly and helpful staff that will answer questions on what’s app anytime! It stays so cool in the apartment too that we only put the bedroom AC on at night. Really clean and nicely furnished inside the apartment with great facilities! Super quiet at night too with no disturbance or issues. Cooking facilities were all excellent too. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay here, would recommend!

The shared rooftop terrace had almost no lighting so in the evening we weren’t able to sit up there and eat which was a shame. The washer / dryer are shared with other apartments which means you have to go out and access a different area, which wasn’t a big issue but a bit inconvenient and would have been good to know in advance. There was no cleaning service at all even though we had 5 nights. The hosts emptied our bins and towels when we asked which was appreciated. But for what we paid we thought it would be cleaned at some point. The lights in the bathroom permanently flicker so we couldn’t have them turned on - just flagging so hosts know for future guests this wasn’t a big issue :) these are all small things and would not deter us from staying in future!

Fabulous and safe Cape Town pad.

Home is beautiful and also fabulously decorated. Property managers Henk and Guido are just down the street. Check in and out were both easy. There is a grocery store and plenty of restaurants nearby for your self catering. Stayed here three nights with our two kids and everyone had a wonderful time. Thanks all!!

Quiet, homely accommodation in a peaceful part of Cape Town.

The hosts were kind and accommodating when we arrived early from an international flight and allowed us to store our luggage before check in. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and we loved the ground floor house. It was very spacious and comfortable and with a beautiful sitting room and kitchen and private balcony. There was great attention to detail with the interior design and home comforts. The area is peaceful and quiet and felt safe. Despite being ground floor accommodation, there were a few steps leading up to the entrance which may impact people with mobility issues.

Wonderful Red Corner House

Fantastic location. Walking distance to waterfront, city centre, Bo Kaap..... Many small cafes and restaurateurs very close, cheaper than the waterfront. Supermarket and shopping mall very close. Hank and Guido very friendly, approachable and helpful. Four adults lived comfortably in red house for 5 days.

Everything was wonderful. Only one small thing - couldn't find a power point in the main bathroom, but nothing major.

Exceptional

The Purple House exceeded our expectations - what a delightful, comfortable, homey place to stay for a few days. The apartment is spacious, giving us all a place to decompress at the end of each day, with awesome outdoor spaces. Sitting on the roof deck with a bottle of wine was a treat! The location is fantastic, with great food options and shopping, walking distance to downtown, easy uber ride elsewhere. Ask your hosts for dinner suggestions - that's how we ended up at an incredible Italian place up the block.

Fantastic

The flat is spacious, clean, well-equipped and has a roof terrace where you can spend time looking at the magnificent Table Mountain over the rooftops of colourful houses in de Waterkant. Location is great, close to the V&A Seafront as well as to the city centre. The owner is very helpful and friendly, he recommended many places to eat and drink in the close proximity as well as further in the city. The whole stay in Cape Town definitely exceeded our expectations, also thanks to the Red Corner Apartment!

A great place and the best hosts

The apartment was a good size, and it was spotless clean! It felt like a home away from home, very cozy and comfortable. The decor had good taste. We couldn’t ask for more for such a lovely place. The location of the apartment is perfect. Very safe and close to everything, good restaurants, bars.. The piano bar and The Charles Guido recommended to us were great. And, the most important thing I want to emphasize is Henk and Guido’s hospitality. They are the best hosts I’ve ever had. When my husband’s flight to the states was canceled and we needed to contact the airline for alternatives , they not only let us use their office but also helped us find the local contact info of the airline. Though no one was picking up our call at the numbers, it was a great help to know that Henk and Guido would do everything they could to assist us. Finally, after waiting for one hour on the phone, I got connected to the airline through the United airline’s US number. As I was discussing alternatives with the airline, Henk also gave us great suggestions for a better route. The whole calling took literally about two hours. We can’t thank Henk and Guido enough for their support during such a dire situation. I highly recommend it to everyone visiting Cape Town.

Modern, comfortable and safe.

The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay; washer, dryer, dishwasher, television, full kitchen, etc. The bathroom had a wonderful deep bathtub, there’s a front and back terrace and a small swimming pool on the rooftop. The location was perfect, in a cute street less than a twenty minute walk to the V&A waterfront and ten minute walk to the city centre. It seemed pretty safe too and very close to restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. Henk and Guido who manage the property live nearby and were so helpful and friendly. They even organised our airport transfers for us. I’d definitely stay here again.
