Anya was a very accommodating host. As we had travelled for 2 hours & 15 minutes from Bled, she kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in the apartment and use the toilet before our official check-in time while the apartment was being cleaned. Anya also welcomed us with a bottle of wine, which was a thoughtful gift. She provided us with the contact details of a trusted taxi company, which we used to travel to and from Portorož and Piran. As the apartment is located on a steep hill between the two towns and is a little further from the nearest beach, the walk can be quite challenging. Having access to reliable transport was therefore extremely helpful, especially as we did not have a car. Although the journeys were short, the taxi service was very convenient. A trip from the apartment to Portorož took around 5 minutes and cost €10, while a journey to Piran took approximately 10 minutes and cost €15. Once we checked in, we found the bed incredibly comfortable and the pillows lovely. The apartment was spacious and easily accommodated our group of two adults and one child. I stayed in a room with a double bed, while my sister and nephew had the larger bedroom, which contained a double bed, a single bed, and an attached kitchenette. There were also two balconies: one connected to my room and another attached to the larger bedroom. The shower was wonderful once we figured out how to operate it!

The corridor between the two bedrooms and the bathroom was quite narrow. The doors also tended to bang into each other, which made it awkward when more than one person was trying to move between the bedrooms and bathroom at the same time. The bathroom itself was rather small and compact. It would be helpful if the host could provide instructions on how to operate the fan in the second, smaller bedroom, or consider installing air conditioning in that room. The larger bedroom had air conditioning, which worked wonderfully for my sister and nephew. One minor inconvenience was that the kitchenette was located directly beside the bed in the larger bedroom. As an early riser, I was unable to make myself a cup of tea or coffee when I woke up without disturbing my sister and nephew. Perhaps it would be helpful to provide a small kettle in the smaller bedroom (the double room with the fancy fan!) for guests who wake up early. On the morning of our departure, I was so desperate for a hot drink that I ended up waking my sister and nephew when I put the kettle on at 6:30 a.m.! In addition, we were constantly bitten by tiger mosquitoes throughout our stay, which was particularly unpleasant for my 11-year old nephew. Considering the severity of the mosquito issue and the fact that we were travelling with a child, I believe the hosts should have provided mosquito nets or mosquito repellent devices in the rooms.
