Harper's Steakhouse with Rooms, Southampton Swanwick Marina

Great stay before early ferry, direct access to the car park which was ideal!

I have stayed at Harpers on many occasions. The rooms are comfortable and clean with a great on site bar and restaurant.

It was all fine.

Room was large comfortable and excellent service

Breakfast was not great and food for party for Xmas Davies transport was ok but too long in-between courses last year was a lot better

Everything…the food was amazing and the room was lovely and staff were brilliant

We waited a long time to be served our breakfast but we were offered a drink free of charge because of that, also the tv didn’t work well

Did what it said on the tin

I was immediately above the public areas of the restaurant and it was very noisy until at least 11:30

Very convenient location. Easy check in with friendly staff. American motel-like feel but luxurious touches - homemade shortbread, little bottle of fresh milk in fridge, Bramley products…

It's so peaceful and quiet, the rooms are huge, clean and warm. Every staff member we interacted with was enthusiastic, kind, and informative. It's so nice we booked another trip away here as we were on our trip!

Ambience of the hotel with very clean, comfortable room. Especially liked the home made shortbread.

Didn’t have a hairdryer. TV was temperamental, coming on in the middle of the night!!

Ideally located for an overnight stop before cruising from Southampton. Lovely quiet rooms, good food and great service.

Nothing really other than perhaps the shower could do with new sealant as the current sealant is a little stained.

Extremely comfortable bed, pod coffee machine, fresh milk and homemade shortbread. Everything was catered for, even a full size iron and ironing board. Toiletries all provided with a sign saying just ask if you had forgot anything which I thought was a nice touch.

Everything was excellent but the sink was making very loud gurgling sounds in the early hours (when I wasn't using it), so I imagine it was a drainage issue.

The property was so clean and comfortable and well equipped for our dog too, this is the second time we have been here, the staff were amazing as they brought our food ordered to our room, would go back

The property was set up really nice, right amount of facilities, and staff were kind enough to leave some shortbread. Beds were comfortable and shower was nice. Good value for money.

It was dusty in places, some cobwebs, wear and tear, just needs a little TLC.

Super friendly welcome and staff. The room was lovely and the bed was soft but super super comfy. Unbelievable for the price!

The room was very spacious with a king-size bed all to myself at no extra charge. Very handy also having a mini fridge for essentials like milk and cold drinks.

I like the brand and that the rooms have everything you need, including water and some milk in the fridge, iron and board, coffee maker etc. Decent size TV and a remote that works. Very good wifi. I like the friendly welcome from the staff (as the last time, I've stayed here before). The rooms are clean and the beds comfy. The room was warm and quiet and the shower very good. Hard to fault. Two of everything in the room drinks-wise as they try to cover all bases, so I had to ask for more non-decaf teabags (and Twinings isn't my favourite even if I'm from Andover) but they gave me some, so no problem. This particular hotel is on the main road by the marina and so very well located for a fabulous walk along the Hamble (or grab your boat). The pub/steakhouse itself is warm and comfortable and I opted in to the breakfast which was quite decent. The evening meal I ate here last time was excellent. It's slightly above average on the price and very much above average on the delivery so great value for money. And I like the 11 am checkout in a world where so many hotels now want to kick you out by 9 or 10 am. Highly recommend. If you're here more than one night and want a change I also highly recommend the fabulous Jolly Sailor Hall and Woodhouse pub near Bursledon Station.

Nothing ... honestly ... oh go on then ... Back door not open in the morning so I had to walk round to the front from my room. A sign telling me that would have been appreciated. Oh, and I got a text to tell me it was cheaper to book direct so I thought I'd have a look at the following night: They have a truly awfully designed website that got me caught up in loops (I dont know how many times it makes you click 'book direct') and turned out to be £10 more expensive than what booking.com was asking with a fraction of the information. So a bit annoying. The welcome texts are great, as was the 'sorry you're leaving' text (sent while I was still at breakfast) but the extra marketing just annoyed me as it just wasn't true! Sort that website out!

we liked the first floor rooms

Clean and very comfortable. Didn't use the restaurant at all but the room was perfect. Fresh cold milk in the fridge for any hot drinks made was a nice touch.
