Pleasant quiet location and room Adequate pleasant stay

Very nice cosy

I feel the beds were too small. And the bathroom could do with a bit of tender care. Lime scale. Around bath taps holes and rust in bath Some of the bar staff were rude and moaning about us as we were a large party and moved chairs to sit together. Female bar staff with long brown hair was extremely rude and most definitely could do with some lessons in hospitality. But we didn’t let it spoil our stay.

Disappointing trip

The staff were lovely and welcoming.The area was great location. We dis nit eat and the resturant but it did look nice.

Thw room.was too hot we had the radiator off and two wimdows open. There was noise constantly all nigbt ling through the walls banging and we slept awfully. The plug sockets were miles away from the beds and there was not enough. Wifi had no signal so though it was free we had to use phone data anyway. Toilet paper was cheap and rough and we endded up going and buying our own. Plus the toilet roll holder was barely hanging onto thw wall itself.Overall really disapointing for the price we paid.I dont know if I would stay again.

A couple of days away .

Great value , clean and well established hotel with plenty of character. Food in the restaurant ( 2 breakfast 1 evening meal ) was superb . Highly recommend.

Great location literally smack in the middle of town. Plenty of facilities (part of a pub with a restaurant and a bar - all day food - great breakfast).

As a hotel guest who has stayed there many times, it would have been to have been allowed to run up a tab. Also table ordering would be a great improvement - the red Lion in Stubbington is owned by the same company and offers excellent table service and tabs. Will elderly and not massively mobile guests in our party, having to go to the bar each time and pay for each round of drinks on the spot was annoying.

Breakfast - Wide range of food available and being able to order things not actually on the menu - i.e. scrambles egg on toast Dining room beautifully decorated for Christmas

Dinner - Although I ordered from the menu given to me, (I didn't order a starter) but asked for a glass of juice I was charged (not very much) for going over my limit. Room - No bedside lamp. Lamp on the desk not really bright enough for laptop work

We have stayed a few times. the first time was great. Food is great and good environment

The room was horrendous, heating on full blast had to hold window open with a cup for it to stay open. Told staff, and they gave us a little fan that was too noisy to use! 2" gap under the door. Tap from the bathroom would not stop dripping.

The food in the bar and at breakfast was very good. The waitress at breakfast was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and clean. Free parking in large car park. A lovely historical building.

The rooms in the old building are very dated and are badly in need of refurbishment. However they are clean and comfortable.
