Disappointed

In terms of payment they were terrible. There was no communication with me about one of the nights I hadn’t paid for. I booked my two night stay well in advance (September) I assumed both nights were paid for. I only found out that I paid for one night when I checked out. I was told this was because I changed one of the dates, which I did. I paid for the second night, but because I didn’t pay in advance, which I thought I did (September) I was charged more for the room for that second night, almost £100 euro more I’m upset about this because I couldn’t take advantage of the payment in advance discount, reason for me booking so early. I also had a £150 deposit withdrawn from my account, I was told that the money would only be reserved, not debited from my account, I later found out that the money was in fact debited and I was charged a fee for this by my bank back in Australia. They immediately put the debited funds back into my account when I complained, but by then I was charged a fee by my bank. Anyway, single man in his 50s travelling on his own, why do they need a deposit? I’m not P Diddy. Disappointed.

The location and breakfast was nice

The location of the facility was very good, breakfast was nice.

The room's heating system was faulty. The staff took care of it and gave us a small heater, but it wasn't enough, so we were cold.

Great stay in the heart of Lille

Comfort and class. Rainfall shower, proper coffee machine and luxury shower products. A good space with everything you need. Private underground parking was good also, although a bit of a faff with codes needed. A brilliant location to walk into the heart of Lille with shops, restaurants and the historic square.

No sink in the separate toilet. No teaspoon and only one milk capsule for the coffee.

Wonderful choice - location, price and room all great

The location was great - walking distance from the train station, the tour bus, the city centre. The family room was great, big enough for 4 people, and very welcoming, the breakfast was very tasty and the staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all, great hotel, we were very happy with it and for sure would stay again.

Nice but problems afterwards

We really had a nice stay but I had a bad experience because I left my card number as deposit and the 150 euros are still blocked in my bank account and the only solution given by the hotel is to contact the bank myself. This shouldn’t happen and I hope it will be solved soon.

It’s too expensive for what it is , wouldn’t recommend it

Very noisy , you can hear everthing on the street , usually hotels should have double glazed windows however this one seems to suffer in that area

Passable hotel - typical city centre hotel, expensive for what it is.

This hotel is in a good location, withing walking distance of local bars, restaurants and tourist destinations. It is relatively quiet at night, considering it is on a junction. There are a couple of downsides: the room was very small and the bathroom cramped. In addition, the hotel had very limited facilities like communal areas; a bar area and lounge. It had an outside eating area which we didn't use because the weather was too cold, and we were told that the indoor restaurant didn't serve food until 7pm in the evening. Some nice touches were that they provided free water in the room, a complimentary bottle of beer and biscuits and pre-charged travel cards for the Metro which is a short walk away. Overall, it was an 'ok' hotel but didn't wow us for the 200+Euros a night. The staff were very helpful.

Nice people! Stay here!

Staff is great! Although they somehow transferred by mistake our backpacks, which were left after check out in the luggage room, to another location in Lille, they admitted the error and did all efforts to bring back the items and they also drove us to train station to ketch the train. Room was comfortable and clean, with all facilities you need. Breakfast was good.

It was a horrific shock when we were told in the evening that the hotel simply turned off the airconditioning. I almost didn't sleep. For me airconditing is a key factor for a room unless it's winter. If I had known the that you turned off the airconditioning when we arrived I would have immedeately booked a room in another Hotel. I think it's completely unheard of to turn of the airco without mentioning this to customers.

Nice hotel, good staff, bad Aircon, house keeping needs attention

Staff very welcoming and pleasant throughout the stay apart from one lady at the bar one evening who was quite blunt when we went for drinks. My french is not good but I try which she seemed frustrated with. The mocktail I ordered was mostly ice and very watery, not worth €8. The breakfast was really good, lots of choice. The room was clean but on the first day we had to ask for coffee pods and milk, the mini bar was stocked and free which was a nice treat. We added the 'green' sign to the door on day 2 and received a free drink in the bar for the room not being serviced. Day 3 we asked for the room to be serviced as we needed the bin emptying etc, the coffee again wasn't stocked and after a long day of walking I had to ask for pods and milk again. A small thing but if you offer a coffee machine then pods should be a given. The 'aircon' advertised only works if it's switched to cooling for the whole hotel so it's not truly Aircon. During our stay the hotel was on warm mode so the Aircon in the room didn't work. When we raised this we were swiftly brought a fan but Aircon was one of the reasons we chose this hotel so that was a disappointment. This should be detailed in the booking.com listing. The pillows were quite hard but we got use to them. Fantastic location for the city centre and the rest of Lille if you're happy for walking and close to the metro.

friendly and comfortable stay in Lille

The staff on reception were so friendly on arrival and departure, on arrival the lady gave us a map and helped us identify good locations to visit around Lille. the room was clean and spacious and had the best shower! and most comfortable bed! I like the use of ecologically friendly soap and shampoo bars. I would definitely return and would recommend to friends.
