Riad Charme d'Orient Adults Only

This little Riad is nestled in a lovely part of the old Medina and very easy to get to. A charming place with lovely staff that always went above and beyond with any request. A great breakfast served on the rooftop each day made it very special.

This charming Riad is tucked away behind the Mosque but easily accessible as the casbah can be a maze to negotiate. It is beautifully furnished in Morrocan local style. Red roses, red velvets, so cosy. Laurence was a fantastic hostess, warm and friendly, we had lovely chats. She runs a tight ship here and the service is tops. Breakfast on the roof in the sun was a real treat. Wifi is good. The staff are so helpful and ready to assist in all ways. It’s a 5 room riad and guests are made to feel part of the family. Particular notice to the beautiful monogrammed white cotton sheets. Really loved it!

The woman who does the housekeeping and helps around the Riad was very kind and attentive.

The man who works during the day doesn’t know the first thing about good hospitality. This was our last Riad in Morocco and up until this point, I had the best service I’ve ever experienced. They didn’t assist with our bags even though it was raining and he said it was my drivers job (even though there was no parking), but I had been in Morocco for a few weeks at this point and every other place we stayed at assisted with no issues. He also tried to lie and say he was the only one there when my driver called him to come help, but when we entered there were multiple staff members present, They had us fill out a form with no direction upon arrival even though every other place did it for us and when I asked a question he was blatantly rude. I brought to his attention that the heat didn’t work and he just told me it was fine until it was brought up multiple times and finally with the owner. Speaking of the owner she was French and not Moroccan which is probably why it lacks that great Moroccan charm and hospitality. The breakfast was subpar and nothing to write home about. I stayed in cheaper Riads and received way better breakfasts. Also, I had them send my clothes off for washing and they told me when they would be back, but then that time came and went and I kept asking him about laundry and he just didn’t answer me. I didn’t get it figured out until I asked the woman that cleans the rooms. This whole experience was extremely disappointing and real put a damper on the end of my trip. With all the other great places to stay I really wouldn’t recommend this one.
