Old Village & Prestige

Pretty village setting with a nice selection of cafes and restaurants. The local “spar” stocked everything we needed and was reasonably priced. It was a nice 15/20 minute stroll to the marina and beach, where there were plenty of places to eat and drink and just relax and people watch. After dinner we would walk back to the village have one last drink in one of the bars before taking a cocktail back to the apartment to enjoy whilst playing cards on the roof terrace. The nearby golf courses were beautiful (this was the reason my husband and son chose Vilamoura) and they were not disappointed.

The swimming pools and surrounding sunbathing areas were quite small and very busy and you were extremely close to the person next to you. It was the height of August but it was really hard to get a sun longer by the pool so we went to the beach most days.

We had a car which was fine but people need to know it’s a fair walk if no car

Apt was clean and has airconditioning in bedroom

Stairs in apt was very dangerous and definitely not suited to families and elderly and outside balcony and furniture very dirty not kept very well. Also no cleaning in room with fresh towels. Apt was well kept and kitchen was very nice with all essential gadgets but would not cook in due to outside area not very nice. Also only one key and fob for apt very annoying having to use fob to get in and out of pool area and having to pay for sunbeds. With cost of sunbeds and taxi’s better off staying nearer marina in hotel as would work out better value for money.
