Birdsnest Hostel Hongdae Foreigner only

The staff are friendly and nice. I liked the location; it's possible to walk to the metro station just a few meters away. There are several convenience stores, restaurants, and a laundromat nearby. And the price is good.

I didn't like is that the stairs to level 1 are very narrow and difficult to carry luggage on, and there are no lockers, which gives a feeling of insecurity with the luggage. Another thing I didn't like, which isn't actually a problem with the hostel itself, is that some guests didn't respect the rules at night and were making noise after the permitted hours, and nobody stopped them. But nothing that really bothered me, although it could bother someone else.

My plane landed late so I was afraid I was going to be too late to check-in, but they allowed me to do a self check-in. No hassle or anything.

It's bathroom was maybe not the cleanest, but I don't know what can be done for a shared shower in the summer in Korea, just comes with the territory.

You definitely get value for money - I recommend if you’re looking for an easy location that is super budget friendly.

There were very few bathrooms and showers for how many rooms there are - only 3 communal toilets and showers. One shower has its on room with toilet, however the other two showers are just cubicles with curtains (no locks) in a mixed men/women bathroom. I was not comfortable using that bathroom as a solo female traveller. There are also not really any places to sit and socialise beside one couch, so I found it to be very quiet and people kept to themselves.
