Wonderful accomodation with Koufonisia charm

Petros Rooms are a wonderful place to stay when visiting the beautiful island of Koufonisi. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming and provided an excellent breakfast each morning. Our room had recently been decorated and was spotlessly clean. Location is excellent being very close to the beaches and only a short walk in to town. From our balcony we had a delightful view of the sea and the island of Keros in the distance. On our day of departure Petros went above and beyond to help us catch a better ferry after the Meltemi had interrupted ferry services in the Aegean.

Spacious room with big shower and bathroom!

Beautiful property and very well kept. Largest shower and bathroom we ever had in Greece! Rooms are very neat and clean and spacious. Petros and family are friendly and welcoming. He also picked us up at the port and took us back. We can 100% recommend Petros Rooms!

A Perfect Stay with Exceptional Hospitality

We had a wonderful stay! Petros was an amazing host—warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, working alongside his lovely daughter. The hotel was spotless, with a spacious room and a balcony offering a dreamlike view. Breakfast was simple yet delicious, and the homemade orange cake was a highlight. The location was perfect, tucked between the Chora and the beaches, making it easy to enjoy both. A special touch that went above and beyond was the collection and return to the port, which made our arrival and departure completely stress-free. Our time here was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Petros and family, for making our stay so special!

Petros rooms ticks every box, you’ll have an amazing stay.

Petros rooms are in the perfect location, walking distance of beautiful beaches and the town, but in a peaceful setting with amazing views and the rooms are all newly renovated to a very high standard. They were very welcoming, picking us up and dropping us back to the port and gave us great restaurant recommendations. We also had a lovely breakfast every morning included. We will definitely be coming back.

Nothing, it was perfect, but if I was really being picky, a kettle in the room would have been nice, but that’s very much a personal preference.

Rooms were clean, wouldn’t stay there again though due to distance to beaches and village. Overall good property.

The rooms were overall clean.

Breakfast is provided but it’s the same thing every morning (bread, hard boiled egg, Greek yogurt with honey, pound cake) and can get monotonous. A couple of the jams we received with the bread basket was previously opened and eaten. For €350/night, we would have appreciated the bed being made (one day it was made, the other days, the blankets and sheets were folded at the bottom of the bed). The property is about a 5 minute walk from the closest beach but we never went to that beach because it’s very close to the street and with the tide, there is no dry area to leave your towel (except on the street) so we would walk 40 mins to Pori beach (granted there were multiple beaches on the way to Pori or you could take the boat ferry to Pori. It’s also about a 15 minute walk to town (there is a back way that’s available but it’s not lit up at night).

Rude Management and Unkept Agreements

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but the high rating of this property feels overrated. Pros: Room as described, renovated, quiet location at night. Early check-in (1h) and late check-out (30 min), though constantly mentioned as if it were an extraordinary favor!

Cons: Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all. Breakfast is very limited, with extras charged (e.g. €3 for cappuccino, espresso unclear). Location not very convenient: 15 min to the beach, longer to town unless you take an unpleasant shortcut. We had been assured for days that we could leave our luggage until 5 pm and be driven to the port. We even asked for a place to shower before leaving, but the only option offered was renting a full-day room, which we politely declined. Despite this agreement, at 11:30 we were abruptly told to pack and were dropped at the port hours earlier, with no explanation. Totally unprofessional behavior.

One of the best on the island!

Everything! Location was perfect (right in the middle between chora and the beaches), room was impeccable every day. Staff was super kind and always ready to help. I’ve been to this island five consecutive years and this has been one the nicest hotel experiences.

Impeccable quality, one of the most comfortable rooms I have ever slept in, the bed was amazing with really lovely bed linen. Simple clean design, everything worked well, very quiet. Balcony with a lovely sea view. Location was tucked away to the side of the village about 15 minutes easy walk away. Good easy access to the beaches. Petro and Zoe were lovely hosts and very helpful.

Fantastic location if you are going to the beaches.

The location is excellent, short walk to the amazing beaches and a 8min walk into the town. We were met and dropped back to the ferry by our lovely host, who also gave us great advice on which beach’s would be the best depending on the wind. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the views from the rooms were lovely looking out over the sea. Breakfast provided each morning

Spottlessly clean and relaxing place to stay

We loved the rooms minimalistic decor and how spottlessly clean everyhting was. I think we have never been in an accommodation this clean! The building is brand new so everyhting felt so fresh. View from balcony to the sea is really relaxing. Owner Petros is really nice and funny guy and his wife is so lovely. Petros takes you from/to the port with his car. Location is nice, basically next to nicest beaches and 8 minutes walk to village if you take the shortcut. When it's dark it's better to walk the road and that takes 15 minutes (took time for both 😄).

The best place to stay in the island.

The place is amazing, recently renovated in high standards, really kind and helpful stuff they provided everything we asked for. The location is convenient for both the beaches and the island center (Chora).The rooms were extremely clean, there was a cleaner everyday. The size is also really good and beds super comfortable. The view is amazing and perfect sunset colors. We will definitely visit again Petros rooms.

Comfortable facilities, even in the wing that has not yet been renovated, and with a generous balcony overlooking the sea. Tasty breakfast, with very kind and attentive service. At the end of the afternoon, it's worth asking Petros to prepare an Aperol Spritz. Do not forget to request a transfer from the port to the location

Great, definitely recommended!

The accommodation is located in a great location, the view from the balcony amazing. The host is great, he is helpful in everything (e.g. he came to pick us up at the port at night after the night ferry arrived). They prepare breakfast in the accommodation, so you don't have to go all the way to town for breakfast if you want. Really overall satisfaction. Great!

Petros Rooms were an awesome home base for my week In Koufonissi. They’re in a great location, they’re super clean and nice, Petros is so friendly and helpful - he even fixed my bike lock which had gotten sand in it! I’ll definitely be back!

We had a great stay at Petros rooms. Petros was very friendly and accommodating which made the stay even more enjoyable. Since Ano Koufonisi is a small island everything is within walking distance so the location is great too! The owner entered our room without permission to turn off the A/C while we were out. Also, we had booked a double bed and instead we got two singles. Finally, the wifi was shared across the complex and had poor signal.

The most relaxing holidays I have had in a while!

Our stay overall was exceptional! The room is located at an even distance from all the beaches we wanted to visit and the city centre, what with the island being small and almost everything is at walking distance. The room was being cleaned daily, each afternoon we returned to a spotless bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. The surrounding area was beautiful and quiet, the facilities minimal and pleasant-looking and Petros, our host, was very polite and ready to help us with directions regarding the island. He drove us from the port to our room the day we arrived in Koufonissi and back to the port when our holidays ended and he even offered to care for our luggage during the hours after the check-out until our departure. I highly recommend Petros Rooms for someone who would like a quiet place to stay and enjoy some relaxing vacations away from the everyday hustle and bustle.

Faultless Stay at Petros

I cannot recommend Petros Rooms highly enough. Excellent communication. Petros picked me up from the port and drove me to my accommodation. My room was very clean and comfortable (great bed and pillows). The accommodation was perfectly located - a short walk into the chora/village taking the back exit of the property (no longer than 10 minutes) and slightly longer taking the main road at the front of the property (no longer than 15 mins). Both options are very safe, including late at night (and I was a solo female traveller). The accommodation is also perfectly located to beach hop along the coast line. I highly recommend doing it to visit Fanos, Pounta, Cavos Milona, the Devil’s Eye before making it to Pori Bay. Truly the most beautiful walk/swimming spots along the way (but take the taxi boat back to the chora in the evening). I would have stayed longer at Petros if it wasn’t fully booked, and would definitely return.
