Great spot, kids loved the pool, staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent pool. My teenage kids loved it and enjoyed playing there. They loved the deep pool and said this was the best pool! There was no one else there so they had it all to themselves. The aircon in the room was great, bed was comfortable.

The location of the room wasn’t great, there was no balcony over looking the pool as advertised.

Nice place, but there are things to consider

Good and the bad so you decide. Good - 1. Close to the beach in Kuta and the Beachwalk mall, walkable distance. 2. Rooms and batrooms are really big compared to other Asian destinations and you also get a balcony. 3. room cleaning every day. 4. There is a very nice pool to enjoy. 5. the restaurant can deliver food to your room, double burgers are great

Bad. - 1. The sink is clogged so the water does not flow well, so when you shave or wash hands it get filled quickly. 2. the bathroom drain also isn't working well, and since the shower is not separated from the rest of the batroom, after you shower the bathroom floor is filled with water. 3. the traffic is crazy in Kuta so getting back to the hotel after you take a day trip will take you an additional hour only to get by in the traffic in Kuta.

I was tricked into booking at this place thinking it was "Grand La Walon" on a non-refundable basis

Relatively clean.

Hotel operator misled me into thinking that hotel was somewhere else. They put the hotel location at the "Grand La Walon Hotel" in Kuta when they are "La Walon Hotel" to charge me a higher room rate at a second rate location. Also, I had booked this under a "non-refundable" basis so I got scammed into staying at a different place/ location to where I thought I would be and would not be able to get my money back. Hotel is located directly opposite one of the largest construction site in Kuta and is operated by one of the largest construction firms in all of Asia being TATA Group. Don't expect any peace and quiet.

Stayed a week last year and nine days this trip, sadly won’t be back after this visit.

Pool is great, rooms are clean. Cocktails are great from the restaurant.

We booked three rooms which had the same room name as last year when we stayed. The rooms we were given this year were VERY different; much smaller, smaller beds, older bathrooms. The bathrooms need an update and a DEEP clean. We had issues with the aircon in one of the rooms and for three days we asked for it to be looked at. Each day they told us it had been repaired but there was no improvement and was still blowing out hot air only. We had no hot water for three days in all three rooms, not a big deal being in Bali but still would have been nice to shower the children in warm water.

If you get a good price and stay in ground floor pool view rooms, it’s worth a look at.

Not much. Best thing was the staff trying to help with getting room fixed.

Very old room with tiny bathroom that needs updating. Limited choice for breakfast as it was cook to order and same orange juice each day. Dining area very shabby, needs a facelift. There was also a very large construction directly opposite that looks along way from finishing and causing major road damage.

Top location with the freindliest staff, great beach nearby if you want to snorkel with sea turtles nearby.

The room was clean and comfortable and a short walk to the beach. The staff were extremely nice and I would speak with them and say hi to their children every day.

The area is fairly remote so will need a scooter or taxi to get there.

Solo traveler before family for life after

Small friendly hotel. Comfortable bed clean. Bathrooms are Bali standard. Lovely restaurant and great location. It's down a back street which was once the centre of kuta. Best Bali restaurant 2 minute walk poppies amazing. 3 minute walk to beach back lane entrance a little of putting but this is normal for kuta unless you want noise all night.You arrive solo and leave as part of a family

The property is in a good location, the staff are very nice and the pool is good with lots of chairs.

The hotel needs major renovations. The bathroom stunk of mold and I had to change rooms because it was giving me such a headache. The bathrooms are super old. The other rooms also smelt like mold but not as bad. The wifi didn’t work for the first 2 nights I was there so I was unable to work from my room. On the description of the hotel on booking.com it says the hotel has wifi and modern bathrooms.. that is a lie.

Good value in the cheaper range.

Located about 5 minutes from beach in poppies lane 1.older classic style property, the smaller balcony rooms have been renovated and are relatively comfortable with new air-conditioning and good hot water that does take a little while to come through though.

The balcony is too small to actually sit out and enjoy for any more than 1 person. Pool towels stank when wet!!??

Best hotel in Kuta for the price and location!

This is our favorite hotel to stay while in Bali! We have stayed here 4 times over the past 2 years, and it is always a pleasure. The staff is always so pleasant and helpful. This is an older property, but you simply cannot beat it for the price, cleanliness, and location. We always enjoy the breakfast and the 4 minute walk to the beach. Easy to walk all around Kuta from here. We will always come back!

The staff. The location. Clean rooms. We had some issues on our stay. However the staff were so accommodating and helpful and tried to fix things very quickly. The room was always cleaned properly. The beds were so comfortable, Lean and massive.

The pool tiles needs maintenance as two people in our group cut their feet on the tiles and they are very slippery as they are just normal tiles and not proper pool tiles. We did always have hot water.

We had a fabulous relaxing holiday at the la Walon and would recommend it highly.

A harmonious blend of the old and the new style of architecture which worked very well. The staff, from management, reception, house keeping and restaurant were courteous, friendly and helpful at all times. They knew their guests by name, used our names often and made us feel like family. I would rate them as some of the best staff that I have ever met.

The hotel is about halfway along Poppies. 1 and transport by car, particularly if heading to airport or Sanur etc, was made a little longer because of one way streets unless the driver knew the shortcut ( there is one) or you walked from the hotel to JL Legian ( about 200 metres) and hailed a Bluebird from there. If your transport was a motor scooter it was easier as they could squeeze through where a car couldn’t go.
