Might have been not the best day, but its did for what I needed, nothing more, nothing less

So this was for a funeral, not at this palce but I travelled up and stayed there. The room was big, nice comfy bed and great water pressure, good breakfast.

They had a function on, so checkin was a little hit and miss, no real this is where this and and that is etc, also just your room in over there and that was it. I get staff were busy so was not that fussed, but its a bit like resturantes that concentrate on delivery orders over diners, I felt the function was getting the attention from the room guests.

Wouldn't stay here again

The manager was friendly and the food was outstanding.

Room was not clean and bedding smelt stail. Bits and leaves all over the floor and cobwebs hanging down above the bed, bath wasn't clen either. It was way to noisy and rowdy. Got woken up loads of times through the night. Breckfast was a wait to get seen, had to keep calling the waitress for menus, coffee etc. Receptionist didn't ask if we enjoyed our stay when we checked out.

Warm, cosy room with a clean good sized bathroom and a large comfortable double bed.

Just one minor gripe was that the entry door key was rather 'sticky', making it a bit difficult to gain entry to the room. Otherwise it was another very pleasant stay at The Plough.

Amazing hotel if you go on a non event day!

The staff were all lovely, the hotel clean and comfy, the food was excellent in the restaurant (kids portions were huge), 10 mins away from lapland uk which is why we booked it. I was thinking we had hit the jackpot......until it came to sleep time.....

There was a xmas party on, which went on until 12.30am. Music blaring , party goers shouting,screeching, singing in the carpark, taxis beeping collecting them. This went on till about 1am. Thankfully my daughter slept through it, but i was shattered!

Excellent rooms everything you need Lots of parking Friendly service Excellent food for dinner if you book and breakfast too. Excellent customer service Was very easy and convenient in all ways There was no noise at all. We stayed in lofes opposite the main pub. Pub had good food and service Nice country feel

Great price, clean, warm and welcoming

It was well presented. Staff very welcoming. It was warm entering the room. It was great value for money.

There were no real place to put up coats etc. Some clothes hooks would be good. The outside door was not alligned properly or was a different size to the opening which cause cold air to flow through the gaps. It also meant outside noise was more noticable. Maybe a new door or draft excluders would help. It did not impede our stay and we would stay again.

Wedding weekend.

On entering the room was surprised by the size and Cleanliness of it...

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Except they were not serviced. We had no milk .and no ext pillow..Breakfast on the first day was cold.

Good food and facilities - unable to sleep with noise.

Breakfast was lovely, room was clean and had everything you needed.

I stayed on a Wednesday evening, with my partner and 2 children. The noise was unbearable, I expected music ect from the pub which stopped at 11 - great. However, the walls were so thin and the people next door had loads of people join them, they stopped around 12 30 then the other side started, this went on until around 1 30. Wouldn't bother me so much without the kids but with a 1 year old and 8 year old, visiting laplandUK the next day- not great.

Lovely but spoilt at the end.

The room was lovely and cosy and the hotel is situated in a village but close to an A road.

The close proximity to the road although not a deal breaker. One thing spoilt my stay and it occurred at 7.30 this morning. Someone left their engine running right outside my room ( it’s like a motel) for over 15 minutes. I didn’t get the lie in I expected because of the noise from the engine. I thought this was extremely discourteous and really rude, what made it worse was that later I realised it was a member of staff who should have known better!

Great place for a romantic weekend with the wife

Lovely venue in an ideal location 5 minutes from Congleton town centre the bar area is excellent however it’s such I nice place it does get very busy so book a table if u can The breakfast was very good quality as you would expect and the staff were fabulous

Easy access to room. Plenty of floor space. Comfortable beds. Adequate parking facilities. The best Sunday Lunch l have ever had . Very helpful staff who were professional at all times.

Room was not as clean as it should have been, dust along the whole length of the skirting boards and cobwebs . Faulty flickering bedside light and window furniture broken preventing you to safely open it. Floor had not been cleaned prior to a booking in.

The breakfast was only tolerable. Scrambled egg was a big lump of egg whereas in my view it should be soft and creamy A poor choice of cold items and I've never seen s server use the toaster on the dining room and take it to the kitchen for my eggs on toast Coffee was excellent.

The TV up in a corner of the room was far too small but the bed was very comfortable There was a lot of confusion when I checked out about how much I owed. This was not handled well Chats went along the lines of "she says she only owes for breakfast". A smile and some courtesy goes a long way. Unfortunately this did not happen.

Wonderful Welcome and busy pub with excellent food and friendly staff. Plenty of Parking. Rooms separate to pub; Comfortable bed and very spacious with extra’s; iron/fan/ biscuits/ toiletries.

Unfortunately disturbed by wedding party: walls paper thin and could hear everything;singing/ shouting and arguing at all hours was not pleasant and would put me off returning for accommodation.

A lovely overnight stop

Nice location, lovely food, the staff were very friendly and professional. Our room was very clean and spacious, it was also well equipped and warm. The parking was excellent.

Whilst the breakfast was plentiful, it was warm not hot. The pillows in our room were uncomfortable, so new pillows would make a big difference.

Experience was fine for a one night stay. Wouldn't wish to go beyond that

Room was dark and overhead light 'on the blink' (room 7). Hadn't expected rooms to be outside of hotel though not a problem. Very limited vegetarian options on the menu but the butternut squash wellington (only option I think) was very good. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Lack of good/appropriate lighting in the room. Limited menu for vegetarians.

Appreciate that it is a wedding venue and that there will be an element of noise late at night, however a group of noisy people with kids running around the car park at 2 in the morning isn't really acceptable.
