Il Gattopardo House

Great location and it is a beautiful palace. The staff is very kind and helpful. There was a parking arrangement that helped us a lot with the car. The breakfast is very very good. fresh croissants with variety and freshly made coffee. The dining rool is very beautiful as well. Our room is was also quite big and beautiful.

We stayed at a room with private external bathroom, and the bathroom smelled of mold and it was very uncomfortable. The towels were also dried in a moldy area and smelled very bad. The parking was communicated to us when we came for check in, even though we wrote a message and a mail beforehand to find out, which meant coming to hotel going to somewhere else and coming back to the hotel again after tiring driving. All these aside, the staff did everything they could to accommodate us and were very kind and nice.

The hotel organised a transfer from the airport which was helpful as my plane was delayed and I didn't arrive until late. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room is comfortable and air conditioned. They offer a lovely breakfast too.

Location is in the center of Catania. Handy to all sorts of shops and a morning market which we found very cheap. The venues owner and staff were lovely people and very helpful. Limited English spoken. The room we had, 104, is large with separate bathroom/toilet. Beds were comfy. You will need local power points for anything electric. Breakfast selection included in room price, was a wide selection of savouries, pastries, bread, fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, and sweet cakes. Coffee, teas and fruit juices. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was hard to tell, but the tiled floor didn't look clean. If you can't handle stairs, this is not for you. Reception is on second floor and rooms on first floor. There is a lift which is the smallest one I have ever been in. Can take maybe 4 people with no luggage or two suitcases with one person.

Gaetano greeted us and made us feel welcome. He offered us cappuccino's and teas all through our stay. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely decorated room. Rooms were really clean and beds and pillows were comfortable. 5* from us all. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Grazie di cuore Gaetano.
