Amazing, peaceful and romantic
Wee romantic night away together for Christmas. We LOVED the location, very quiet and private. We saw a herons and squirrels. Accommodation was immaculately clean and well presented (although not fans of the table in the living room, but each to their own!)
Bed was comfy and the bath was amazing!
We will be back, great value for money

Nice inside but very expensive for a 2 night stay that isn’t even 42 hours
Nice and quiet
No logs for the burner and no information telling us where to get any from…we were not expecting to sort that ourselves..1 toilet roll between 2 of us for 2 nights stay..a few broken fixtures inside the cabin..no hang space anywhere inside to hang clothing on..and the very grotty extractor fan in the en-suite🤮

Lovely relaxing and very pretty
We stayed in the burrow. It was a lovely lodge.
There was a 2 ring hob and microwave so could have done with an oven for pizzas etc.
We paid £15 for the kit for the fire burner and they gave logs far too big so couldn’t fit. They eventually changed them but gave bricks instead which didn’t burn very well so that was a bit disappointing.

Great relaxing location
The accommodation was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed watching the fishermen catching trout from our lounge window
No salt or pepper - sounds petty but would be a really useful basic to have in self catering accomodation

Okay, although nice location we won’t be going back
Lovely location and clean.
Unfortunately the ground floor room smelt and felt damp.

Really enjoyed our stay although we got lost finding our both when we arrived as we were told to take the second turning
It was quiet and comfortable with plenty of room
There wasn’t much we didn’t like but a mat at the front door would have been useful as every time we entered the property we trailed in muck and lots of pine needles. When we used the hot tub the floor got very wet and was a slip hazard. We had to put a towel on the floor to soak up the water.

It was an amazing stay and the restaurant food was amazing.
Property was perfect.
Probably could do with extra seating if taking more than 2 people. Probably be better if light switch was inside bathroom so that if switched on at night it didn’t disturb people sleeping in living area.

I’d highly recommend this place
A beautiful and peaceful place. The cottages are very cosy, clean and well-kept. The restaurant serves delicious food.
We probably just had a bit of luck, but one of the lights in the room was quite dim, one in the hallway wasn’t working and another went out on the second day. The porch light was flickering constantly,so we preferred to keep it of. It would be also helpful to have a brush and dustpan available- we were with children and dog.

Quiet, relaxing break, staff and food were excellent, we had an issue with our hot tub and the main
Hearty breakfast and good value for money, staff were most helpful.
General smaller maintenance bits and pieces letting the side down slightly, main upstairs balcony doors in Glen Lee were a struggle to open/shut. Just small things that aren't that costly if you keep on top of them.

Could of been a lovely relaxing weekend away for my birthday but these things put a downer on it.
We loved the cabin. Finished to a very good standard, Restaurant and bar was lovely. Really good food and coffee, Most staff where very helpful.
When we checked in at 4pm on the Friday we went to our cabin and it was freezing inside. None of the radiators were on. It took a good few hours to heat the cabin. Also the shower wasn't very warm. Could barely stand under it. We did report it to a member of staff at 9.30 on the Saturday morning at the main desk for the lodges. She said she would send maintenance out to have a look at it. Nothing was done about it.

Disappointed
We liked the location, hot tub and roll top bath.
We hadn’t requested an early check, but on arrival, we had already booked lunch, and decided to ask about our booking. We were informed our hut was ready but that we would have to pay an additional £30 to gain entry before 4pm, even although they had just told us the hut was ready. As customers who have visited twice previously we were disappointed at this, but reluctantly paid the £30.
At lunch, due to what appeared to be staff shortage, the waiter/duty manager was run ragged between all the tables, apologising at each table, which meant when the food arrived it was luke warm and we could hear several tables complaining about the temperature of the food. We felt sorry for the one member of staff on duty who we have to say was very polite, professional and doing his best.
There were 4 tiny sachets of coffee in our accommodation for 2 adults for 2 nights. On opening the 4th sachet it has solidified and therefore unusable. We asked at Reception for the coffee to be replenished and were informed we would have to “purchase any additional coffee sachets”! This seems a basic, essential which could easily have been rectified.
In view of the above, we have since decided we will not return to Forbes of Kingennie.

Ok, just needs of attention.
Overall the Boathouse was nice, just wouldnt be in a rush to go back.
The path to the Boathouse needs resurfaced, lots of pots holes which in the dark (& all the leaves) were hard to see. Someone could easily trip or hurt themselves.
The inside of the property could do with the walls being painted, quite a few marks and chips. In the bathroom you can see where parts have been touched up with white gloss paint.
Youd expect a king size mattress, not 2 singles beds pushed together. The mattress(es) were thin and hard.
The exterior of the building could do with being cleaned, covered in cobwebs and overall dirty.
Check in was quite late (4pm), asked staff for an early check in and was bluntly told no. The property was ready as my husband was fishing right beside it and seen no one go in the property. Would have happily paid extra for an early check in but wasnt even offered that.

Luxurious relaxing break in beautiful surroundings
Every attention to detail down to the embossed stamp on the toilet rolls! Lodge spotless and everything in it top quality from furniture to furnishings and equipment. We were very sorry to only be staying 3 nights and will definitely return.
Not in any way complaints but the lodge could do with a companion set/ash bucket/heat glove. We would’ve liked to have cleaned fire after use. Also some cushions on the couch as it was such a deep couch us vertically challenged quests struggled to reach the floor with our feet when sat back in it. A full length mirror would also be handy somewhere.
This didn’t hamper our stay whatsoever but would be welcome additions next visit.

Ideal if you like fishing and/or golf, short journey to Dundee, Forfar and Arbroath. Was very quiet which is exactly
The location, stunning outlook onto the fishing pools. We were located near to the bar and restaurant which was a bonus as well.showers were excellent, powerful and very warm.
Outside could have done with a power wash, loads of webs at the door and on each of the balconies.

Excellent place with nicecwalks
Food in the restaurant was very good, bar was also pet friendly with dog treats in a jar and also supply of poo bags.

Clean and great location.
Clean and perfect location.
Amber weather warning when we travelled so got there early so we could make the Queensferry crossing. When arrived at 2.40 with my elderly mum we’re told we would have to pay £35 to check in early, even though Amber weather warning on. Felt that could have been waived due to exceptional circumstance so had to wait until 4pm.

A hidden gem.
The lodge was lovely as was the surroundings.
Restaurant on site was excellent and staff all very pleasant
Nothing but I realised there was more enclosed garden space in some of the other lodges which would have suited my puppy more. I'd come back and use one of those instead.

stay was good but would have been so much better with a nicer lodge.
Location was great, surroundings lovely. Bar and food good and reasonably priced.
Lodge very tired with grout away from main toilet floor tiles leaving very sharp edges. Door handles coming off. Lack of oven dishes. rugs very dirty. Outside lodge looks like it needs a good paint. Decking needs painted. Sofas very uncomfortable and didn't smell very nice.

We had a lovely stay, our group all enjoyed it. Beautiful resort, lovely walks. Some areas a bit tired looking, outside
Great size of property. Clean inside. Lovely views of surrounding area. Lovely walks in the area, and staff were all friendly and helpful.
Entrance hallway a bit tired looking, older appliances (dishwasher/washing machine). Outside area of lodge a bit grubby looking.

Alright
Location was amazing and beautiful views all over.
Housekeeping could have been better.
Towels were dirty and few had big holes which can't be missed while putting them there.
Told reception but didn't get replacement
Location was great but Balconies required as loads of spider webs were there with dirt deposits No brush available to sweep.
Previous travellers filled bin liner was never removed from day 1.

Beautiful relaxing break in lovely lodge
Lovely communal area with balcony . The comfortable couches and large table in the lounge and kitchen area . Nice and quiet . Loved the hot tub and the short walk across to the restaurant. Loved the walks and grounds and garden areas well maintained. Hot tub checked every morning by staff. Great place for a group holiday or families for fishing and golf and able to bring dogs with you too
Balconies could do with a wash and hose down as loads of spider webs . No brush available to sweep all the leaves off the balcony. Although balcony was great , trees blocked our view of the loch and the sunrise/sunset. Other lodges didn’t have that obstruction, could do with cutting back the height of trees directly in front of Glen Finlet lodge.

Loved the jakuzzi and privacy
A bit small but that wasn’t a big problem, we just stayed for two nights

A great resort with plenty to do in a lovely area.
The compact shepherd's hut was well designed and comfortable. Activities on offer were excellent, including golf and fishing. Very peaceful and private. The service from staff in the bar and restaurant was superb, very attentive and professional.
We paid extra for having our dog (normal I suppose for extra cleaning) but there wasn’t even a dog bowl for water. The garden space outside also had gaps at the bottom of the fence where our dog would go exploring so it wasn’t secure enough.

Everything we needed although shower in master bedroom was not very powerful. Hot tubs are a great addition. Staff were all very friendly.
Shower wasn’t great.

Great pet friendly cabin
Great stay in bankside bothy. Lovely wee pet friendly cabin with a good sized secure garden. The cabin was very comfortable, great beds and a nice comfy sofa. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was good. The hotel tub was amazing once it was hot enough to use. The Forbes of kingennie resort is beautiful with great facilities.
The hotel tub was set at 15 degrees on arrival and we had to turn it up ourselves so it was too cold to use for the first night of our stay.
Although the cabin sleeps 4 people it is quite small and only really has inside seating for 2. It would be fine for a small family but not ideal for 4 adults.

Spacious, spotless cabin with amazing views
A fantastic family getaway! The cabin was spacious, spotless, and offered breathtaking views. The location itself is stunning—an ideal setting for a peaceful holiday with loved ones. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the bar area and had a great time at the quiz night. Plus, it’s one of the most dog-friendly places we’ve ever stayed, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
If we had to mention one small thing, the kitchen could’ve used a few more serving bowls and plates, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Lovely bothy, clean but no privacy
It was clean, comfortable and close to amenities. Hot tub was clean and everything was supplied
The maintenance man came out and just came to our bothy without knocking on our door to say he was checking our hot tub on the first day. The second day we had to check out by 10am so we went in the hot tub from 8-9am. As we got out the maintenance man just entered our area and started cleaning out the hot tub with pipes everywhere and therefore we couldn’t sit outside and have our morning coffee as we nearly tripped over the pipes. I phoned down to complain and the manager stated he would talk to me when I went to hand in the keys.
When I arrived there was a young girl on the desk who was very pleasant and the manager had disappeared so she found another manager who apologised. Stated he was sorry and we could have a complimentary breakfast and a free night stay to say sorry but I have had no email to offer this.
As we were sitting with our breakfast the maintenance man came to the reception so there was no great rush to get the hot tub done. It spoiled what should have been a nice relaxing time away instead we were rushed out. Disappointed

Very spacious and visibly clean
Very strong smell of dogs, and a a family with no pets was even more noticeable

Private, beautiful and I would definitely go back
Clean, good amenities, lovely location, private. A double edged sword for this one - hot tub was very clean and not hugely chlorinated - most likely due to them cleaning it so regularly.
The hot tub was still cold when we checked in because it’s emptied and cleaned thoroughly, but it meant we couldn’t use it until 10pm at night, then you aren’t allowed to use it on the morning you leave because it’s emptied and cleaned for the next person early. It meant that we only got to use it for a short time and very late at night. As I said though, double edge sword as it was great as it was so clean but didn’t get that much use as was at a wedding during the day.

Nice lodge but take extra towels!
Location and hot tub
No robes. No mat at door so floor got soaking after heavy rain and hot tub.
Minimal towels for showering and hot tub. Asked for more but told it would be an extra charge.
Hob didn’t work.
