Perfect location out of town near sea with good bus connection to main town. Nice breakfast although owner changed starting time to 8.30 am while booking i dicated from 8.00 and beeded to be in town at 9.30am

Welcoming introduction to Crete

George and his family run a well organized team who keep the day to day running of the resort seamlessly. They were very welcoming. The space was simple but very effective. Communication was very clear and timely - important info was exchanged with ease. The room was comfy, effectively air conditioned when the electric key is used. We had a side view balcony overlooking the hills which was fab for watching the beginning of the sunset and early morning shade. The location is priceless! Super close to a very tidy bit of beach with access to their pool when you’d prefer, the photos do the decor justice! The breakfast was super and well stocked. I highly recommend George’s coffee making skills!

The high ceilings in the room made for an echoing effect so the bathroom door closing was loud, once you know how to handle it, it’s totally workable! Because of the electric key shutoff, our fridge showed no signs of life - so didn’t rely on it. A good sign that we loved being outside our room so much that we spent more of our time out than in!

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

The owner was super accommodating in helping to resolve our room booking issue and allow us to experience a fantastic stay. He was an extremely nice man whose primary goal was hospitality. We had a large group and he helped us acquire two taxis to explore Heraklion city. The kids loved having the pool and beach right there and the beach/pool-side service to order drinks was awesome. There were ample covered chairs on the beach too. Location-wise it was very central to many restaurants and shops in the area. The rooms were also spacious with good beds, a nice shower and fridge to use, and TVs with access to Netflix.

The pool was a little small, which was fine with only a few people there but it crowds quickly with more people. I wish there were more pillows as they were pretty flat. Sheets seemed a bit limited as we were missing a fitted sheet. Breakfast was good but lacked variety.

If you are visiting Crete definitely choose Emi Seaside!

From the beginning we got detailed instructions via message of how to get to the property from the Heraklion airport. We took a bus which got us directly in front of the hotel building. Everybody in Emi Seaside is very polite and friendly and helpful, especially our host George. We felt very welcome. What is more the hotel is very clean and rooms are comfortable. Outside the building you can find multiple shops, restaurants and car rentals. Would definitely recommend this property!

The best hotel, if you want relax and enjoy the greek kindness

The hotel owner and the staff, is very friendly, and attentive. The hotel and the pool site is very clean, and modern, everything is comfortable, the beach with the sunbeds is very close. The main street with a lot of shops and restaurants, are very close. You can order good food, drinks or anything you want from the bar. The breakfast is amaizing delicious, and rich.

The smell of towels are not good.

Great hotel on the beach!

Emi Seaside is a lovely well maintained family run hotel in a great location on the beachfront and close to Heraklion airport. There was a side seaview from the balcony in the room we stayed which was large and spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable with a good shower. There was a very good selection of fresh produce for the breakfast. Thank you again to George and his family&all the friendly and helpful staff for a great stay! We would definitely return again.

I liked the most location and hospitality of owners. The property has directly entrance to the beach area with its own sun loungers, and it has good connection with local attraction and airport, which are easy to reach by public transport. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is perfect — just a 2-minute walk to the hotel’s private sandy beach with free sunbeds. The beach and shoreline are sandy, without rocks or cliffs, and the entrance to the sea is smooth and pleasant — perfect for both adults and children. There’s also a clean swimming pool on the property that is maintained daily, so the water is always fresh and enjoyable. The rooms are spacious, freshly renovated, and exceptionally clean. Housekeeping is done every day, which makes the stay even more comfortable. It’s truly a pleasure to relax in such neat and airy rooms. The hotel also has an elevator, which is very convenient, especially for families or older guests. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any request. Breakfasts are delicious, made with fresh ingredients and offer a nice variety from day to day. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy tasty and reasonably priced meals. Please note that consuming your own food and drinks is only allowed in the room, or late in the evening when the hotel’s kitchen and bar are closed. There’s also a bus stop nearby with direct service to Heraklion, and a local shop with the lowest prices in the area (we checked!). Highly recommended for a comfortable, peaceful, and relaxing vacation.

A perfect getaway

Sorry, NO!

Don't think I've ever had a FINGER WAGGED in my face so many times. The staff/owners are unfriendly and unaccommodating - The pool is minuscule, and you're not allowed to splash in the water(!). I was SHOOED out of the breakfast area for wanting a cup of coffee before leaving for an early flight. Seriously? The beach is filthy with trash and used condoms scattered around; generally, the area seems depressed and could use some revitalization. Would not recommend this place.

Friendly staff & great location

Super lovely family run place. The standard of the room is BETTER than what you pay for. It’s clean, modern and the place is right on the beach and 1 min walk away from the bus stop. From the port or center of Heraklion, it takes 8-10 mins in a taxi and cost about €15-20. There is a lift in the building so you don’t have to drag your suitcase upstairs like in most places on the island

A great value and great staff!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms are older, but very clean. It’s right at the beach. Our kids loved the small pool. Next to some really great restaurants!

Breakfast doesn’t start until 8:30, which can make it hard for young kids who wake up earlier. Also, I know this is very common in Europe so this is not necessarily directed at just this hotel, but when you remove the key from the magnetic slot to leave your room, the power will shut off - this means the fridge also shuts off and your food will go bad if you are gone all day at the pool/beach.

Great budget location in Iraklion

Before the evaluation some preliminary reservation must be made: we came to EMI Seaside late May, which in this year was a bit cold for Cretan conditions. Also it is important that we came with our "own" rent car and we wanted to have mobility and not reside in the center of the town, rather pretty close to the main route allowing us to undertake excursions far from Iraklion. Taking into account the above mentioned information we must say we were very glad with the location, west of the center or Iraklion. Nearby there is a power station with high chimneys but it didn't spoil the landscape, dominated by high mountains and its sharp ridges on the closer background as well as on the horizon. EMI Seaside is a nice little building stretched along the narrow landplot from the main road to the beach. Part of this beach is dedicated to residents of this little hotel run by very friendly, very kind people. We were looking for budget options, and therefore we assess the room by such a standard: it had everything we needed, bed was large and comfortable, perhaps therefore cramped up in one end of the room. But it definitely did not have any impact on felt comfort of our stay. Very decent breakfasts were taken in the main hall with open view towards the sea and the open vicinity. Looking towards the sea you may see small pool, clean and well maintained, accompanied by places to sit and rest under the sun, with very nice arrangement. To go to the beach you'll have to pass through wooden clad narrow (ca. 1,5 m, so not so bad) trottoire, where you find sunbeds, tables, and umbrellas, making your stay on the beach more pleasant. This is relative - on one of adjacent parcels there is a ruined building (not related to EMI Seaside). It looks like raiders hideout from the Fallout computer game. Who can resist such an attraction! We were amazed and went to look closer. Awesome (but people with more traditional aesthetic views won't like it, perhaps).

Nothing was particularly annoying or uncomfortable. However, for this review to be balanced and informative, some remarks are given below. First of all, when you arrive by car, do not use extremely narrow internal access road to EMI Seaside, park your car by the main road and go on foot - very kind owner will show you the place to park your car, which is not on the same piece of land, but very close, literally few meters away. Second, for handicapped persons the access may be quite complicated, because you'll have problems with main entrance. This is to be overcome by entering from common room (where breakfast is served). The building is equipped with the elevator, but some corridors have strange thresholds. Third, sometimes you'll find heating pipes protruding from the ground, pretty close to the bed. However, be fair, this is no 5 star hotel, and for the price it is not only very decent, but very, very good! Friendliness of owners is also great, and it is quite important to have kind and helpful host, isn't it?

Basic hotel, not fancy, but ok

The owner of the hotel was very polite and helpful. The hotel was clean and basic. Breakfast was good, coffee, bacon, eggs, fruits, juice, cheese etc. Beach was ok. Airport bus was easy to take, just opposite the hotel. Overall it was ok for two nights stay.

The location was not so nice, abandent buildings close by, but it was easy to get to the center by bus.
