I have stayed several times here and it is always exceptional for yoga, vegan food and a good vibe. I wanted to give a big shout out for this stay as I was ill for a few days and the staff were very supportive and compassionate. Serenity has everything from being close to the beach and great dining or if you want to stay in it has a chill restaurant area to relax in any time. Can't say enough good things.

Really loved all the free time options such as many yoga classes a day, massages, books, a big pool and other rooms I didn’t manage to check out in just a day. Also it‘s very close to the beach where I took surfing classes, which was also convenient. Also liked the restaurant attached to it and the relaxed vibe to chill out. All in all a great hostel.

Fantastic breakfast included. Justifying these else expensive dorm price.
Beautiful eco feel.
Very basic sleeping accommodation in the dorms. Perfect for yoga / meditation intentions.
Hearing all the classes can feel a bit too noisy

Nice hostel with pool and good breakfast and nice vibe to just hang out. Also really good yoga which you paid extra for.
Prices were quite high especially for dorm rooms which were quite small, but I understand you pay for the pool area etc also. I went to their sister hostel after 1 night as cheaper and the single rooms were booked up.

Exceptional staff and love being immersed in this little oasis!!!
Very noisy at night

A slice of serenity in the chaos.
I left my yeti cup there - I’ll be back in January hopefully I can collect it then!

The authenticity, chill vibes.
The spa has good treatments.
Staff is helpful and nice but a bit confused sometimes (that had mixed my arrival day), and also one of my spa treatment. A bit irritating while you are here to relax.
The breakfast options (and food options) are vegan so super limited in protein but rich in calories, sugar, oil and carbs.

I feel like whenever I am at serenity, I am at home.
Everyone is so welcoming and warm and the dogs make it all the more special!
Sometimes a little noisy…

The front desk staff were super helpful and flexible when I had to change plans! There was one yoga teacher I really liked. The balcony and garden views from my room were beautiful! And I enjoyed connecting with some of the other guests.
Lots of shoes-off areas, but grungy floors that made my feet feel dirty. My "big bed" was 2 twin mattresses pushed together. The room was so hot and mosquito-ridden that I had to bring the fan inside of the mosquito net to feel any airflow. Breakfast was vegan - though tasty, not enough protein and not filling. I didn't realize that yoga classes are separate from the room fee. Sound carries like crazy - loud yoga shalas. One yoga teacher was rude to me when I asked a question during class. After all of that, I was excited to leave!

Friendly staff, nice location, delicious food, homey wholesome vibe all round
Weird loud vibrating sound in my room (I think from neighbours fan vibrating the wall or something like that?) but only heard it on the last 2 nights of my 3+ week stay

Everything - I am currently at my second stay in serenity and is by far the most authentic, peaceful, comfortable and safe place I have stayed at. After a stressful few weeks of travel I felt my anxiety melt away here. Rustic, bohemian charm with lots of unique artwork and design in every corner of the building. I can see why people happily return and stay here for months on end. I first visited in March and knew from the first day that I would be coming back. The staff, community and yoga teachings are world class. Captures the essence of yoga and its teachings without the pretentious commercialised vibe. The rooms are excellent value for what you get. I stayed in the dorm, the Zen private room and backpackers room (during my previous stay) and slept soundly in all of them. They warn of insects and lizards etc. but you really don’t see them in rooms. Food is delicious, in particular I enjoy the oyster mushroom burger. Staff are friendly and will do anything they can to help you with a smile. Despite the location in the heart of Canggu which can be noisy, serenity remains quiet and peaceful, yet is in a perfect location for exploring Canggu and the beach is only a minute walk away.
A few of us ended up in the wrong shala for a yin yoga class on one occasion so perhaps communication for shala changes could have been improved but other than that 10/10 will always come back here for a wonderful authentic experience

Great location very close to the beach, with good vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”

Incredible breakfast, great staff, really kind and "zen" people haha. I didn't use the pool, but it was always clean and ready to have a bath.
I left early in the morning and they held my luggage for a whole day and didn't charge me. Eveything's really vegan and has signs of eco friendly all over the place. I wish they have impulsed me to take the Yoga classes, I missed all of them.
Almost everyone were in their world. It's a place to chill, not to share with other people, they were so quiet and all the time working. It was perfect to rest, but that's all, really boring.

Serenity is a magical place, the entire atmosphere the second you walk in is so peaceful. The staff were so lovely, the yoga classes are honestly the best I have ever been too and the breakfast is insanely good.
If you’re into Yoga and looking for somewhere to stay in Bali I honestly couldn’t recommend anywhere more!!
Nothing, everything was amazing!

Peaceful and super friendly
It is 100% dedicated for Yoga and Vegan customers.
After 2 days you hate the breakfast if you are not a vegan. If you like to eat balanced stay away.

The staff is very friendly and the street is not too busy as per Canggu standard
Well its a eco guesthouse and at some point you need to renew, but nothing serious. I would come back.

Second time staying at this beautiful property, both times has had everything I needed
My room this time didn’t have air conditioning which I had thought would be fine but it was hooott! I ended up taking a wet towel to bed to help cool me down, but the room was my choice, no fault of the property

I wished I could have stayed more than one night to experience more of what was on offer, including going to the nearby beach! The food, the environment, ie. pool, plants/trees, peaceful spaces, massages. My room - Freedom met my needs as well. The Serenity was like an oasis in the back area. It has a very good, healing point of difference.
I didn't get a great sleep because there were people who seemed to talking loudly (the female more than the male) until after midnight. My flight ran late so I arrive at about 9pm and really wanted a good sleep - it had been a long day; flight delayed; baggage took over an hour to come out, etc. The notices in the rooms stated for people to be quiet etc. Maybe it would be worth reminded guests when they book in about this, in case some don't read notices.

Vegan breakfast buffet, friendly staff, range of yoga classes
Construction work in and outside building, pillar in middle of bedroom (backpackers 7)

I stayed in a private room which was perfectly sufficient for my 10 days there. The staff are really lovely and helpful in their communication, overall just a relaxed vibe about the place. The permaculture set up is seamless; it makes you appreciate the beauty of where you are staying and you learn some things too!
Perfectly fine for me / I knew what I was getting into, but do be prepared to embrace the permaculture approach e.g.: natural lotions for mosquitos, natural septic tanks etc. Plus you are 'immersed' in the yoga studios too (again, I liked this)

everything was perfect

The staff are incredible, there so many of them and they are all very confident in what they are doing and always around to help. The food is so tasty, massive breakfast selection. And the yoga is out of this world. Like the best yoga I’ve ever done. There so many shalas, the pool is nice and it’s close to the beach. Would 1000% come back. It’s nice as well as I don’t drink and it felt like there was a lot of like minded people. Food also reasonable price.
Top tip - get an aircon room! Mine was boiling & the WiFi wasn’t great

Location and quiet
Good poisoning my daughter and I both got severely on separate days from eating at the restaurant on site. We ate nowhere else and we ate two totally different meals. One salad and one cooked potato and vegetable meal. Two days apart
8.0 / 10.0
I initially got the single room - but I didn't like it at all (I would have rated it a 6 at most) because at the time I was there they were cutting some trees, so it was really noisy. I had the room facing the interior patio - which was very dark, with little natural light coming in. The room was also very small but this was to be expected because of the pictures.
However, given the noise issues I asked to be changed to a different room which they agreed to at an additional cost (which they discounted for me). The new room was so much better, bigger and comfortable. It was unfortunate that it wasn't available for 3 nights in a row - so I had to move again (moving rooms 3 times over 5 nights - which was a lot)
They do loads of different activities - especially yoga, which is nice. There is also an area with dedicated tables and where Wifi is strongest - which is ideal for working.
This is an eco place - so there is no soundproofing. They also use only natural repellents - so this was the place where I got bitten the most
The pool is nice (not the best, not the worst) - but I didn't like that they don't allow any SPF. That is not good for one's health - they should allow mineral ones
Although the restaurant (vegan only) is lovely, and tasty - I also got a little bit unwell (nothing too serious though) from a vegan burger I had there
This is NOT the venue's fault - but I had a very unfortunate incident where a guy hit the table I was working at in the common space area. There should be more staff around

Beautiful pool area, unbeatable yoga classes, best breakfast buffet every day, nice private feeling dorm beds, great place to make friends as a solo traveler. This was my second stay, and I’d definitely come again.
Lots of mosquitoes. This is the price of being eco-friendly.

The buffet breakfast was delicious; the rooms were so clean, the mosquitoes were friendly at times. Everyone respected the quiet hours, the food in the cafe was delicious. The Ocean Blue room offered a private space so I could do video calls for work.
Nothing. It was super! Super wifi and connection fast!

It is a special place, with all the intricate bamboo architecture, yoga classes, and eco effort. The place looks very nice and I liked the yoga schedule, there are many classes every day. Staff is very nice.
The breakfast has few options and it's 100% vegan. It didn't feel nourishing(could be just me as I am not a vegan) and I would have loved to have some eggs at least. There is zero sound isolation in the bamboo build area. Not a huge issue but might be worth mentioning.

Great location, only few minutes from the beach. Eco hotel with nice garden and plenty of different yoga classes. Nice pool inside the garden. Room is simple but comfortable. I liked vegan breakfast buffet. Also balinasian massage was great.
For me it was not enough privacy in my room.

Disliked: some noise at night in the higher situated rooms in the back

Property was located on a quietish street but 5 min walk from the beach, I had booked a room with a balcony and pool view but for some reason they put me in private entrance room which they stayed the owner used. The room was a great size and there were no issues. Mattress on the floor which wasn’t a problem
No windows or no view
