Village Izukogen

Location was good for the areas we were planning to explore. Very spacious room with comfortable tatami beds (but we had to set it up ourselves though) and linen. A nice filtered view of the sea and pleasant grounds.

There was a kitchen but absolutely no cutlery or crockery. Paper plates and bowls were provided which didn't seem environmentally friendly especially since a kitchen was available. A microwave in the kitchen would have been helpful together with some simple cutlery. Better signages to direct guests will be helpful esp for those arriving after sunset as it is located deep inside.

Cute hotel, rooms are a bit dated, but better than on the pictures! Onzen has been renovated and is amazing. Pool Is heated. Billiard, ping pong available for free. Good wibe in the hotel, very easy with kids. Many things to do around

Windows on the corridor sides are letting light through (weird) so we patched them up with towels to not have morning light. Pool was closed with a problem 1 day. Driving required for everything, but to be expected. Need to pay extra for cutlery etc.

Staff were nice and very friendly

Have to pay for using of utensils and kitchenware even though the room was provided with a kitchen. Had to pay for using the laundry too. Does not make sense when Airbnb provides everything. Hotel needs to keep up with the changing times. Hotel is also dated and in need of a renovation. Tatami room could be used to provide proper beds to provide a peaceful rest for all guests accommodated in the room. Not everyone is able to sleep on a futon as the hard floor gave aches and a hard time sleeping for people who are not accustomed to sleeping on futons.
