Beautiful scenery, beautiful staff and just an all round excellent stay. Thankyou Muma Beach!

This property is tucked away at the far end of Phi Phi, meaning you’re far enough away from the craziness of central Phi Phi but also close enough should you want to go for food, do a bit of shopping etc. it’s about a 10 minute walk to the centre. The rooms were lovely and the hotel provide everything you may need. From towels to tooth brushes & small tooth paste sachets . There is a mini fridge containing a variety of drinks which are chargeable, but it is nice not to have to walk to a shop should you want a quick drink in your room. The hotel Bellboy met us from the pier and wheeled our luggage down to the hotel, this was a very efficient process and was super helpful after a travel day! The staff here are absolutely second to none. They couldn’t be more polite or do enough for you. Anything we asked (re excursions etc) the staff were more than willing to help in finding what we needed and helped us to book. One excursion was early morning so they offered to make us a breakfast box which was so nice. The breakfast itself was great, plenty to choose from. My husband and I agree this was the best breakfast we’d had since being in Thailand. In fact this was our favourite hotel overall!

Amazing, beautiful and exceptional place run by wonderful people 🌸

Our stay in the hotel was amazing. The staff members were extremely kind and created amazing, friendly atmosphere. The apartment was very cozy with a stunning view of the beach. The location of the hotel is pretty with high rocks, jungle and beautiful beach surrounding it. And, the breakfast menu also lived up to the expectations.

Very good choice dor the money paid, but needs improvements

-very good location, right near tonsai pier and the hotel staff meets you at the pier and helps with the luggage (same at departure) -extremely kind and helpfull staff -the hotel has a private beach area, with chairs and a bar, which is perfect -you can book a private boat directly at the reception for a very good price (1800 bahts for a 3hrs private boat to maya bay & surroundings) -extremely good and varied breakfast -very bice balcony

-horror bath (very dirty toilet, bad odour, little shower place woth no curtain, bad and old towels) -very bad smell in the building where we stayed -dirty pool/jacuzzi

Excellent hotel

The hotel was great, full of charm and just a great place to spend time away from the more busy part of town. The private beach space was really nice with plenty of sun beds. The standout for us though was the breakfast. Exceptional with so many choices and really tasty baked goods and pastries. Really friendly pick up and luggage transport from the staff at ferry port and the same on our return because the hotel is probably 5-10 mins walk away. Not perfect, but where is these days. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

The pool is a little disappointing. Really small and not for swimming. This however wasn't that impactful given amazing waters on our doorstep.

Great stay and wonderful staff

Extremely wonderful staff (which includes the attached restaurant). They were so attentive to my partner who required electrolytes and always checked in. The view is awesome and it’s a comfortable room to rest in after a long day in the main town of Phi Phi. It’s one of the furthest from town which means it’s quiet and peaceful.

The beds are quite hard and the hot water is lacking but that’s standard for Thailand.

Stuff was lovely, breakfast was good , nice location on the beach at the end of the island shore.

Room is fairly basic. The water pressure in the shower is awful. The Jacuzzi and pool are not that welcoming and are very shallow.. all in all we expected more from the pictures and the price..

Chill hotel with good vibes, quiet and clean

Close but not too close. 10 min walk to party vibe places. Beach front bar is excellent. Breakfast is delish. Not beach front but kinda is beach front, way more than other places. Hard to explain but if you want a great place to chill, this place is a yes.

If you want to lock up, they have a physical key.

I didn’t use the spa pool as not sure if it was clean and no other swimming pool The garden sea view room had a lovely view however a damp smell was noticed possibly due to heavy rain. Shower pressure somewhat low and temperature not as hot as I prefer

Nice beachfront hotel with some issues

Nice little hotel with beachfront location and good breakfast. Excellent communication regarding pick up, but with room for improvement in housekeeping, cats roaming the breakfast restaurant and lobby, and smoke-free areas.

The rooms are compact, and our terrace constantly caught smoke from neighbouring guests. A similar issue arose at the beach, where some sunbeds and the adjacent hut were used by smokers. Several house cats roamed freely, including in reception and breakfast areas. Housekeeping was delayed due to limited staff, and our room was only attended to late in the afternoon, by which time we opted to rest and simply requested fresh towels and water.

Don't skip any extras! (Snorkel, boat tour, kayaking and hike to the viewpoints for great memories)

This stay was perfect for us. The room was nice and clean with good air conditioning and a beautiful view. Mama Beach Residence took care of any and all needs that we communicated and then some. They have boat tours and kayak rentals available, snorkeling and whatever else you might be interested in. You could also get them from any of the vendors in town, but they have them here also for a competitive rate, and they don't push any of it. It's far enough away from the central pier to give you peace and quiet in the evenings, and close enough for anything you might want like access to all the restaurants or shops (about a 10 min stroll down the beach). Addy, at reception, was exceptionally helpful in making sure we were all set to go for any topics. Great English and even found and was vigilant about returning a lost item that we forgot in the room in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this location and would stay here again if returning to Phi Phi.

It’s far from the bars and restaurants, you have to walk around 15min to go out. There’s only a big jacuzzi at the hotel, not a pool.

Front beach

Front beach location, Breakfast is very good and many choices. Organization of activities is possible. We made Maya bay, Pileh lagoon and Monkey Beach with a longtail. Very nice excursion. Nice Spa services.

The resort has some problem of canalization, some bad smell of toilets at some place, mostly because the rain. The appartment is quite small with low ceiling that's give a dark room. Too much mosquitos on the balcony. The location of the resort is quite far from the center, at the extremity of the beach. Quite expensive.

Hidden gem in paradise

This property is a little hidden gem. We loved every minute here, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We wanted to book a boat trip to maya bay but were worried about the weather so they let us wait until the very last minute then Siri on reception called a boat for us and it came within 10 minutes. We had a comfort sea view room which was really convenient being able to step out into the pool and onto the beach. I was worried about the outdoor bathroom but it was all fine, I did a YouTube video to show this too for others under you can find it under the handle savvy travel girl. The beach felt like a private beach, hardly any tourists there and it was so beautiful. We are now at the Saii hotel and honestly I prefer the exterior of mama beach.

My only wish is if the room decor was updated to include a wardrobe and air con in the bathroom too as we had air con on the main room but the bathroom could get a little warm.

Amazing location but wouldn’t recommend for solo travellers

The location is amazing and staff carry your things from the port Lovely location on the beach Staff were nice on the whole Staff were kind to let me check out late following a serious admission to hospital from food poisoning which meant I had to be discharged on the morning of leaving. I called few times to let them know.

There is no phone in rooms, and no one at reception past about 6pm. Just a security guard who is nice but doesn’t speak a lot of English. My room was in desperate need of sound proofing. The one night I did stay I barely slept form the TV and other noise from the room next door which woke me up from the hours of 1am onwards. I think for a hotel that doesn’t have 24 hour reception it’s difficult to deal with this. I was really annoyed as the lack of sleep meant I missed out on the sunrise walk I wanted to do the next day, and the only thing I planned in Phi Phi. I asked to move rooms which wasn’t possible. The staff were meant to come back to me about it, but I had to chase them and ask for an answer to my complaint which was annoying. I would have appreciated some compensation for essentially what was a sleepless night for me. As I say, the staff extended check out for a couple of hours as I was unfortunately admitted to hospital for the last 2 days of my trip and therefore only back early on the day of check out and was too weak to rush. I will say, I called them twice, and at first they said they may have to empty my room before I was back, and the Second Lady I spoke to wanted me to call again the next day to confirm the exact time of my discharge (I said it would be in the morning) which I wasn’t able to do and a bit of an ask from someone calling from a hospital bed with no control over the condor. I called to pre warn them and ask them to please hold the room. They didn’t do either of these things, but given my situation, a straightforward “don’t worry about anything” would have been appreciated. My shower sprayed absolutely everywhere and was difficult to control water not getting everywhere. I personally wouldn’t recommend this place for a solo traveller

Great location away from party music

Chose the resort as it was away from the hustle and bustle of the main party scene, amazing food and beach location. Used as a base for 6am sunrise tour to Maya island, which was great to visit before all the mainland tourists arrived. Would love to revisit one day.

We had a lot hotels in Thailand but Mama Beach was the best one! Only there we had delicious breakfast, location is perfect! And stuff sooooooo friendly. We felt there just like at home. Ps. I dont know what kind a parfum do you use in the room after cleaning but its very strong🙈

Umbrellas by the sun lounges for the afternoon sun and earlier room service would have been good.
