Super location to be based to appreciate Dunfermline

Staff were very helpful , friendly and polite, Much appreciated

Room was to small with the sloping ceiling ( I am 6 foot 1 and showering was tricky , so was reading in bed and moving around. I also found the steep narrow staircase less than ideal as despite being relatively fit for my age it was tricky especially with luggage

Spent 2 nights there and went beyond my expectations.

The location was perfect for my trip. Right in the city centre by all amenities. Easy access to local transport and short walk to train station. Lovely room,comfy bed,nice bathroom/shower. Good supply of coffee,tea. Very clean room and hotel. Liked the decor. Nice bar/restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

For my short stay of two nights I found the City hotel an excellent choice for my needs at the time.

Breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Served on warm plates with hot food and plenty of it. My single room was adequate and clean with a fully functioning bathroom. Would have liked a magnifying mirror though. Location excellent.

Overall lighting/ decor could have been brighter. Magnifying mirror in the bathroom would be helpful

Cozy & quiet, great breakfast! Free parking (only a small number of spaces, get there quick).

Changed room due to 1st room facing on to main street plus slanting ceiling right above bed! Avoid room 21! No issues changing room to face back of hotel. Saturday breakfast 7-9am! Could have done with pushing this to 10am as checkout is 11am.

The facilities were excellent and all staff were accommodating polite and receptive Additionally the breakfast was very good too I would have given the breakfast excellent however, the black pudding and haggis were a tad overcooked and dry

Kept awake by bottles being repeatedly emptied into bins outside up to 2am. Most inconsiderate. Breakfast very poor. Buffet at opposite ends of room. Loud fan noise switched on at 06.50 somewhere downstairs. So we didn't get much sleep. Only one chair in a room for 2. Bare walls in room.

Hard to locate with satnav. The photo on Booking.com is the BACK of the hotel which faces into a carpark off the road and is out of sight from the road. Drove past the front twice but looking for something different. Name not obvious driving in a strange city!

Excellent hotel

Absolutely lovely hotel right in the centre of Dunfermline. Right by the abbey and palace grounds and all the pubs and Pittencrief Park . Lovely clean little single room just perfect for me on my own. The staff are lovely and the breakfast and food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced.

Good City Centre Hotel

Room was smaller than expected but adequate for one night. The bathroom was spacious with a large powerful shower. It was all very clean. Nice having a biscuit with tea and coffee. Window opened and there was a decent fan, which as it was very warm, this was great. Had to ask reception for a hairdryer, but this was not a problem. The hotel kindly let us leave our luggage on the last day and pick it up later so we could enjoy seeing the City until our train. The staff on in the restaurant in the evening were great. We met friends there and there was 7 of us for dinner. All very good

There was no plug point near to the mirror to blow dry my hair. The mirror would not move so my husband had to get the mirror app on his phone so that I could see what I was doing. This was extremly frustrating and the hotel would have scored top marks if it wasn't for this. Breakfast was only served till 9am which was very early for a Saturday morning. We arrived just before 9am and the staff were clearing things up. We got a lovely cooked breakfast and juice and coffee, which was fine for us. Had we wanted toast, cereal, fruit etc, I feel we would have had to rush before it was taken away.

Centrally located and convenient restaurant.

The location is excellent. It is very centrally located. The restaurant has a wide menu and is a good, convenient place to eat. We used it on numerous occasions.

As with many hotels in the UK, there is no lift and all the rooms are upstairs. If you have mobility problems, then this could be a problem. Parking is in a public carpark at the back. More steps!

Friendly staff. Small functional room ideal for a one night stay. Delicious breakfast- huge portions. Convenient location for Alhambra Theatre. Close to Abbey and Pittencrief Park. Council car park behind hotel. Very reasonably priced.

Perfect for 1 night in Dunfermline if going out.

The bar had a great cocktail menu albeit a little bit expensive. The breakfast was also lovely the next morning. Our room was quiet and pillows were comfortable. There was a radiator we could turn on as it was quite cold in the room when we arrived.

I didn’t enjoy the waterfall shower as quite a number of the holes were blocked which meant washing my hair was really time consuming. When there’s only a few streams of water it’s not the best. Our room was quite small which isn’t what the pictures make it out to be, they look much more spacious in photos however it was comfortable enough for 1 night. Any longer and you’d want a bigger room with more storage space.

Great location and friendly staff, but the upper single rooms need some maintenance.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent — close to everything I needed. The food was good, and the restaurant prices were reasonable for what you get. My friend stayed in a Standard Double Room and it was definitely worth the price.

The building is quite old, as expected, and the single rooms on the top floor are only accessible by very steep stairs, which could be difficult for anyone with knee problems or heavy luggage. My single room also had very poor water pressure — almost no water coming through the sink or toilet — likely because it was on the top floor. Hot water was also an issue for my Single room.

Staff, meals and service are of a high standard. Nothing, is too much effort to attend to. Smiles are never short of from all the staff.

Great second stay here, centrally located to explore Dunfermline and easy to get to Edinburgh.

Lovely breakfast, great location. This is the second time I've stayed here and would definitely use again.

The mattress could be done with replacing as it was sagging in both the room I stayed in and my parents.
