Heritage Cairns Hotel

It was very clean and tidy. And great value for the money.

The ease of checking in and out.

The hotel was well staffed, with decent facilities and room to move (we stayed in a 2 Bedroom Apartment). Great quiet location, just a short walk into the Cairns Night Markets, Boardwalk and Cairns Lagoon.

Potentially a little run down and could be a little cleaner

I’m afraid I can’t say too much positive about this property other than the staff. The facility does offer parking along with a washer and dryer on the second floor, and it is within walking distance of the promenade.

For what we paid I expected much more than a tired room that desperately needed a paint job as well as a good cleaning of the shower tiles, which were green. We were told we had been given an upgrade, but in actuality, we were given a handicap suite as the showerhead was located shoulder height, and I’m only 5’3“. As we were checking in, we overheard the price quoted to the gentleman in front of us that was staying for four nights and it was only $100 more than we paid for two. The explanation I was given is that we booked well in advance, which makes no sense to me. I’m starting to suspect that when you book a room through Booking.com, they provide you with the least desirable as we have had little success with our hotels in Queensland.
