Adequate for quick overnight stay to break the journey after leaving Auckland at 5pm, heading to Waitomo caves the next morning.
Car park was functional, but a bit tricky for positioning your car with the other cars, depending on how others parked. We had to manouver somewhat to back out on departure. Parking skills improved ;)

It was clean and a handy location. Very close to bus station. Ars and restaurants etc. The front desk guy was helpful. Having spare chargers for phones was super handy and the sisterfields restaurant atratched had a great breakfast. Cheap rooms.
The heat pump made unhealthy noises. It was just a bit old and run down but to be fair I think the price reflected it. Rooms were small but had pretty much everything you needed except the hot chocolate mentioned. Handy having access to a shared laundry (paid). I felt having a vending machine was handy but would make more sense to have it on level 3 in the vacant space outside the lifts for easier acess or in the reception area.
All minor things...jot just needs a bit of love but it is an old building.
It was quite noisy out on the st Fri and Sat night ..lots of yelling etc.and some interesting charecters around but the streets are well lit and populated.
As someone labeling alone not having an inside locking mechanism and having tje stairs amd lifts accessible to anyone made me feel a little uncomfortable personally

Was very small and the view was the roof and buildings opposite. The bathroom was tiny, the shower door hit the handbasin and the tiles were incredibly slippery when wet. It wasn't overly expensive so I guess you get what you pay for and we were not there long each day.
