The Victoria Hotel

We have stayed here before so knew the location suited us perfectly. The breakfast was outstanding with lots of choice and the quality of all the products used in all their breakfasts is first class. Thoroughly recommend the Victoria Hotel.

The location is ideal, being right in the center of Bamburgh. The hotel has it's own secure car park situated a few hundred yards away. The staff are very welcoming and approachable, especially the waiting staff in the restaurant. The hotel is dog friendly, which we needed. The main public areas of the hotel are beautifully and tastefully decorated with lots of art work and querky lighting. It is expensive, but then you are paying for the location. We felt it was worth it, as it allowed us to have a memorable stay in a brsutiful part of Northumberland.

There is no lift. My friend has mobility issues, so being on the top floor was quite difficult for her. There is a ground floor room which is designed to be wheelchair accessible, with a disabled toilet. Unfortunately we were not aware of this, otherwise I would have looked at booking it for her. The rooms we were allocated had lovely ensuite shower rooms, but the bedrooms needed to have a face lift. The carpets were stained and the paintwork, especially the skirting boards, scuffed dirty and chipped.

Great hotel, ideally situated in this lovely village. ALL of the staff were amazing, all happy to help. The breakfasts are brilliant! Plenty of choice and lots of really good coffee! The staff were all cheerful and what was really great, had time to talk to you or help you if needed. This is a really lovely hotel with a cheerful ambiance, which I hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Location ,size of room and dig friendly

Unwelcoming,unhelpful staff. Asked for a 2nd hand towell and extra pillow and was met with a dirty look! Helped myself to both as laundry store AKA Cleaners coffee break point was outside our room. The hand towel was taken away when the room was tidied the next day!! I say tidied as it wasn't cleaned and a vacuum was not used . The window ledge half way down the stairs was used for dumping glasses and other items from guest bedrooms and cleaning materials. This was pretty much for most of the day for 3 days . Felt unwelcom. When handing in key on leaving wasn't even asked how are stay was. I believe this hotel is living on borrowed time . Sorry breakfast, what a joke ,get you in and out .
