Excellent customer service

Breakfast and dinner were delicious with substantial menu choices. All staff were friendly, helpful and made you feel important. Nothing was too much trouble.

Slight issue with bathroom shower and towel rail but this was very promptly resolved by manager Jon Crisp.

The bed really wasn’t very comfy, Rm15, springs could be felt so didn’t sleep amazingly. Had a Disco when we stayed, we were offered a room on an upper level but stayed with original booked and was a little noisy.

Brilliant staff, excellent food and a lovely stay.

We only live nearby and wanted a couples night away but somewhere near us. We've had meals in the Riverside and enjoyed so decided to stay the night. The room was lively and comfortable and the facilities were great.

very nice hotel and definitely value for money

We had an upgrade through Booking.com, the room was very spacious with a good view over the garden and river. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. Unfortunately, we arrived in the dark and left in the dark so couldn't see the local area

Comfortable and convenient wonderful food.

This is a beautiful property and the Christmas decorations were spectacular. We had an executive annexe which was separate from the main hotel. It was quite warm and very comfortable.

I don’t think I could find any fault with the property. You have to accept that it isn’t a modern building but it is full of charm.

Wonderful hotel in Mildenhall.

Loved the location and the hotel itself had a country manor type feeling. It was decorated already for Christmas which was lovely. Rooms were nice and big.

I found the beds slightly hard and on the small size even though we had ordered an X-Large bed.

The staff was very accommodating, the style of the hotel oozed English charm and everything about our trip was superb!

All we expected of an English hotel and more! Free biscuits with our coffee and tea made it special! The restaurant meals are exceptional!

Lovely staff and food in restaurant was excellent.

Staff were very helpful and Julie on reception went above and beyond to move things around so we had rooms near each other. We were upgraded to honeymoon suite to accommodate this.

Apparently if you had room at front opposite main road it was noisy in the mornings and could you hear bins being emptied at 5am.

A great place to stay for Newmarket races

The staff were outstanding - nothing was too much trouble, they were universally kind and friendly. The room was comfortable and well appointed, with an excellent walk-in shower. Breakfast is very good - from fresh fruit salad to the ‘full English’, and portions are generous. The bar and restaurant are also very good, and not expensive.

Wonderful reasonably priced hotel

The venue from my mother’s funeral, so I decided to stay overnight. I don’t understand what people are talking about when it’s tired and dated it’s English and it’s very lovely. I like the fact that it isn’t particularly modern in some areas but modernised where it matters like the bathroom

The tables in the garden were very welcome in August. The staff were very friendly and the room was excellent.

The parking is tight and there is not much lighting in the overflow car park at night.

A beautiful, quaint, cosy hotel, a home away from home with lovely helpful staff

Beautiful, quaint ,cosy , home away from home hotel in a great location, easy access to other towns and cities with free parking. The staff are very warm and friendly. Breakfast staff welcome you with a very warm and friendly smile and chat , a great start to the day. John the gentleman at the reception is a great asset to the hotel. He is so friendly and warm ever willing to help. He is a multi tasker. Very willingly fixed our very tall ceiling hight curtain past 5 pm bringing over a tall ladder with a friendly smile. Such staff are rare and the owner should treasure him. He was so passionate about the hotel and Mildenhall.

We were disturbed by the footsteps from the room above. Definitely sound proofing is needed !!!!

Location

Lift was unclean and really dirty at the edges and didn’t work very well, beds in room were really uncomfortable and could feel the springs, broken blinds in the room didn’t really work and left all the light in, shower also didn’t really work and sprayed water everywhere

Very good one night stay

Great hotel with very friendly staff & a lovely atmosphere. We stayed in a family room which was very spacious with tea & coffee making facilities & air con which was a bonus. Plenty of choice at breakfast too.

The room was a bit tired but the rest of the hotel made up for this & we would definitely stay here again.

Lovely room, comfy bed, powerful shower, great food, and friendly staff that really take care of you... feels like a home from home. Fourth visit, and I will definitely be back.

Super location, friendly and helpful staff. Easy and plenty of parking. Great breakfast and evening food.

Small gripes. Room was spatial and well furnished but the lighting was not good. No overhead lighting so had to put the bathroom light on, keep door open to use the tea making facilities. Perhaps a battery light in tea alcove! Also very poor toilet flush.

Adequate room and food

Communication between reception staff ...dire! Billing incorrect also dire. No air con in my room as described in booking. Com and when took up with hotel they were in denial saying wasn't their problem. Very angry about this 😡.

Staff were great. Location very good

Rooms now very tired and beds very uncomfortable with bumps in the mattress . Large rooms with high ceilings with air con virtually useless as not Powerful enough. Duvets way too heavy and hot for summer sleeping. Food average , with limited choices. Booked a standard room for my son as well as ours saying both had air con in booking .com. Found out not so as standard rooms according to the hotel do not! Very poor and taking this up with hotel head office as I would never had booked this room due to the heat! On checking out our bill was absolute chaotic and some receipts for drinks not even ours! 😡 Will NEVER stay at this ' faulty towers' style dreadful hotel again. A real shame as all staff ( except one who shall not be named as hopeless and very abrupt and rude) were a credit to the hotel and really way too good for it. Am not usually so critical of a review but this hotel should only be a two star at absolute most!

Breakfast was very, very good. Pleasant staff and very accommodating to our requests.

Mini-split A/C system was O.K., but we would have liked it a bit cooler in our room. The system was unable to cool to the desired nighttime temperature, but it was adequate. Our friend's room across the hall was able to cool much more than ours.
