Elegant building and comfortable beds

Hotel still retained some of the old world charm it would have been famous for, but is clearly showing its age in amenties. I did have a budget single room and it showed, although the bathroom had been nicely redecorated. The bar was nice as were the public rooms.
There was only basic tea/coffee making facilities. Just so happens i stayed during the hottest days ever recorded in June in the UK and the lack of aircon (which other budget hotels nearby do have) was a challenge. A small cheap fan and a window that hardly opens didnt really cut it.

Friendly staff, great location & room with an excellent view
The beds were too soft & uncomfortable. Also continental breakfast was limited in its choice.
