Splendid Venice - Starhotels Collezione

We loved the location. With two kids under ten, it was an exciting area and there were many more kids at the hotel! We loved the rooftop bar, the DJ spinning his tunes, the great waitstaff up there, the view, the set up. We loved the bathrooms, the marble is timeless, the tubs and shower water pressure was divine. We really liked the many areas where you could sit and relax throughout the lobby area. We loved champagne and cookies on arrival for our family! We loved being picked up and dropped off at the dock in front of the hotel, and how attentive the reception people were when making transportation reservations for us. We loved the breakfast buffet and the lovely solarium it was in. The rooms were very well cleaned and maintained. Overall the room was very quiet. I highly recommend this hotel for families...one our rooms was a suite with two bedrooms and an adjoining hallway between the two. Very safe. We also loved having a nice sitting room separate from the bedroom in our suite. Overall, the hotel was very competitive price wise and much more reasonable than many of the hotels in Venice.

The beds are a bit firm though we slept very well. There are areas, particularly around the lobby that could use some maintenance and refreshing. It's very colourful and inviting with lots of seating. So nice to order a cool drink on arrival at the little lobby bar!
