Lovely old building. Great location for our needs (near Reading Uni). Perfectly clean facilities, room and en suite. (Even full size fridge, kettle and microwave!) Fabulous staff, and heart-shaped treats as Valentines Day! Lovely touch! Thank you.

Location, access to parking.

Noisy on Saturday night. Little sound insulation from room upstairs whilst came in very late and left early. Heating control wasn't very sensitive, so you were either cold or boiling. Bathroom was tiny.

Not safe, awful, stay away from here

We checked out within 2 hours as it was so awful, we didn’t even make it until breakfast

Upon arrival, in the car park were multiple cars with severe damage. The man at reception told us to follow him, led us around a series of buildings in the dark with no communication. He then proceeded to enter our room and told us this was it. Given the poor state of vehicles and how far away we were from our car, we decided to go and move our car to the next street by the building we were staying in. In our room, the single glazed windows were sash windows with no lock on them so they could be opened from the outside. The wooden window frames were starting to peel and showed signs of black mould. The room door didn’t shut fully with a lot of gaps around the door, there was a lack of fire signs and the bathroom was awful. We went for a walk to get away as it felt weird, after about an hour we decided we really wouldn’t be safe there at night and neither were our belongings while we were out. We went back and packed everything up. I went and handed the key back and said we were going to stay elsewhere, the receptionist made no comment.

The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and had black out curtains. I slept very well. The receptionist who greeted us was very good.

It was difficult to get the top off the bath toiletries.

Adequate hotel with exceptional staffing

Staff went above and beyond to help, and I enjoyed chatting at reception briefly! The rooms were exactly what I expected for the price I paid; a bed, bathroom and even a microwave.

It was a tad loud in the evening from outside noises though that is hardly the hotels fault.

Great value. I was in one of the newly refurbished club rooms which was very comfortable, quiet and clean and had everything I needed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It's about 20 - 25 min walk to city centre. Good parking availability at the hotel. Nice local area, green and leafy and lots of nearby eating and shops options on the high street (the Korean place was great).

Lovely property well spread out rooms were basic but perfect as they also had microwave cutlery and plates and bowls if you wanted to bring your own food. Rooms are nice and warm and the bed very comfortable.

the shower could do with updating a bit as if took ages to warm up and also needs slip mats in the shower as I’d was very slippery.

Very quiet stay at the back of Reading University Campus

Receptionist was very friendly and nice, trying to help with finding a Restaurant, she also gave me a free room upgrade, where I enjoyed staying in a very spacious luxurious mini Suite with even self-catering facilities like Fridge and electric kitchen stove additional to the Standard Tea cooking facilities. This room was amazing the three-face huge windows were blind-able with top-to bottom Venetian jalousies which made a stunning pattern of shadows when lit by the outside parking floodlights at night. Certainly these could be fully closed as well, but I preferred to look at the interesting shadowplay. Breakfast Options were manifold, be it Continental or Classical cooked British, most times I chose the Full English and also didn't regret chosing the poached smoked Haddock with poached Eggs, still runny, that was lovely too!

since it's been pretty cool and rainy (severe flooding in south-Wales!) it was quite chilly inside the room - MY FAULT - I didn't check to turn on the heaters, as soon as I did, everthing came nice and cosy. Shower takes a long time to provide warm water, but when arrived, it's actually too hot and has to be reduced by mixing in cold water. I recommend to turn on the shower while brushing teeth, then it's about right ... getting warm and time to indulge in the shower stream.

Ok, good value but for a reason!

The hotel was in a good location and was relatively clean. The room was adequate and the staff were helpful and friendly.

The whole hotel was far too hot. I had to have the fan on all night which was very noisy and kept waking me up. The bed was jammed up against the wall unnecessarily. The shower door was on the wrong way so you couldn’t turn the shower on without getting in first. Very unpleasant with cold water! The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Didn’t enjoy it at all. Breakfast ok.

It was great value for money and a super comfy and easy stay.

Great location, only a 20 minute walk from town! Nice and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the blinds were very black out. The staff were lovely.

The towel rail was on and very hot constantly which made the room very very warm. The fridge in our room also didn’t work.

The staffs were great. Attentive, supportive and safety minded. Was given a comp upgrade from a basic room to standard, allocated a room in thr main building as I was alone for safety.

The lift was broken throughout my stay. Climbing to the third fall hmm. The staffs did offer to help with luggage’s though.

Suitable and well located.

I have stayed in the lodge rooms (are they called lodges?!) and what a find in Reading. I am between moving homes and having to travel in from the North frequently, it has just been good to have an en-suite room with a kitchennet but part of a larger hotel. Absolutely lovely. Parking is plentiful and free which is great. The staff here are pleasant too.

It could do with being better cleaned.
